It's taken, on average across the last 10 seasons, 92pts to win the title. If we maintain our 2PpG, we'll end up on 76pts.

To get to 92pts, we'd need 2.7PpG for the rest of the season. That's 4 wins and a draw from 5 games. For the rest of the season.

The top 8 can still get to 92pts, but Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea would all need 70-71pts from the remaining 24 games. Basically, they'd need to win every single game.

If Arsenal maintain this form, they'll end up on 100pts, Man City on 87pts. So Arsenal can have a wobble and still be on course for 92pts, Man City are within touching distance, but the rest of the league would have to significantly improve their form to come close.

Worth adding to this that Arsenal have achieved just over 2.6 points per game so far this season and they've had an unbelievable start.

We'd have to better that for the rest of the season to get to 92. That's what 2.7 PPG looks like.

So you're saying we would have to improve to go from 2ppg to 2.7ppg. Thank fuck we have people like you and Fish to point these things out.

I was trying to provide some context of what 2.7ppg looks like, Mr Saturday Night.

No, I'm saying that to achieve a title tilt, we'll need to better the form of the current league leaders. Which isn't likely.

Maybe if people stopped acting like children, I'd stop having to explain real life to them like they were children.

31. Fucking hell.

We scored 44 last season and we aren't even half way

Last year at this stage we had scored 17 and conceded 30. To go a bit Fishy that's scoring 1.1 goals per game and conceding 2.0. This season we're scoring 2.1 goals per game and conceding just 0.7. That's a per game swing of 2.3 goals in our favour, absolutely incredible.

Why is it unlikely?

Arsenal are famed bottlers.  We have nothing to lose.

Who’s the fuckin toddler who needs an abacus to tell them that?

Again, to reiterate:  stats have a vital place in football , but some come under heading of “STATING THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS”  this being one such occasion :)

The point was not that we need to do better than them between now and the end of the season (which of course is obvious), it was that we would need to do better than they've done season to date. And that would involve acquiring almost maximum points in ever game (2.7). Which is less obvious and which you absioutely weren't aware of to that level of degail.

The truth is you misread and misinterpreted something involving data/stats AFUCKINGGAIN.

RECURRING THEME ALERT!

PL and Gemmill to have a duel, the preferred weapon of choice of both to be a cloth handkerchief and a small bottle of chloroform. Both their lasses to stand on the sidelines tears streaming down their spiked faces singing, '3am in the morning, carried away by a moonlight shadow.'.

Doesn’t this 2.7 figure only come into play if Arsenal maintain current form though? It’s fairly obvious to me that on their current form we’d need to exceed what they’ve done so far to catch them and pass them seeing as we’re 7 points behind them and they’ve got a game in hand, which would be nigh on impossible for the current NUFC. We’ve both come to the same conclusion. Sorry if you and Dave need a spreadsheet for that

Arsenal were famed bottlers. Dunno if Arteta's Arsenal will be quite the same. Evidence so far this seasons says not.
