Wanting to only pay a fraction of stuttgarts valuation and thinking woltemade wouldn't be swayed to go elsewhere. So we got a call of them asking if we where interested. I believe we'd always been interested and has been said Bayern looked nailed on, but when they pissed about with their derisory (scouse like) bids I thought we made the enquiry along the lines of "we'd pay your price, is the player interested" a price which was pretty widely reported as what they'd want. Because wasn't it known that bayern wanted him so probably stopped us from thinking we could get him. i dunno for sure but we made bids for the likes of pedro, ekitke, sekso etc which all played out in public first. i think it was another opportunistic signing and we swooped after we exhausted our other options and it became clear bayern weren't going to pay the asking price. Rayvin 8095
Either way, it's worked out well for us. I'm sure it would have worked out well with Sesko and Ekitike too in truth, but that's ultimately because the common denominator in success in this respect is Howe.

Sesko hasn't become dogshit overnight, he's surrounded by incompetence and a coach that doesn't know / want to know how to adapt. you only have to look at how well the players Man U have moved on have gone on to do. Makes sesko and mbuemo’s decisions all the more bizarre. I’m convinced we finish above them again
Gemmill 61749
I'm pleased we didn't get Sesko tbh. I know he's on a shit side playing for a shit manager, but he looks way more limited a player than Woltemade.
Rayvin 8095
I agree actually, I'm not totally clear on what it is he's meant to do 'well' other than being a fairly standard striker.

To be honest, most clubs need someone like that. He's aggressive, hard working, good finisher, decent in the air too. Man Utd are certainly better off with someone reliable, instead of some mercurial talent.

I don't think it's clear at the minute that he's either. When we were signing him he came with a heavy caveat that he was raw and needed a lot of work. He's not gonna get that work there. Genuinely some of the Man Utd fans round me have said they'd have Solskjaer back, or Keane (!) Don't think they'd need much convincing to have Ferguson back in charge. Gemmill 61749
After some of the stuff Keane has said about the players, I'd love to see him try and get a tune out of them.

Technically he'd have been a perfect replacement for him but I think we'd have been walking more of a disciplinary tightrope than his predecessor. Tom 15443
He was training anyway ffs Judging by the press coming out of LFC they are severely underwhelmed by Isak and they are trying to win the PR battle Our pre season was just over 4 weeks long…Isak has been at Liverpool for 5 3

Rayvin 8095
With any luck the issue is that he's mentally 'injured' himself tbh. Being at the top of the game must require a fairly constant level of emotional balance and he's likely annihilated any zen he had over the course of the summer in the way he humiliated himself throughout. 4
