I swear I didn't plan it this way  , but I did again catch the game on flight back home last night. So much for the lucky charm.

We weren't at our best, I give Arsenal credit for that they did pretty much what you need to do to win at SJP these days. I still hate Arteta though and seriously hope they fall back to struggling for 4th next season.

I think Bruno had his worst game for us, came up against a quality midfield but he hardly got anything right himself. Joe too but for him at least we know he's at his best wide left. I said this after the Southampton game too when he conceded posession for their goal (did again for the play that eventually led to the first goal yesterday), he gets himself into trouble in front of the defence and seems to think he can wriggle out of it but for me he's not one of those players that are very good at that. Loses the ball way too many times in areas that leave the defence outnumbered. He seems to have forgotten how to shoot too, completely fluffs the ball when you would expect any decent player to at least make the keeper work. It's perhaps unfair to single him out when nobody was very good yesterday, but it was a very very frustrating performance. Not sure if its been discussed, need to deal with the jetlag and a shiteload of work emails before catching up with the thread.

Agreed about Bruno - the big issue with no Longstaff is both Bruno and Joe both end up playing really deep because they’re having to do loads more work running back towards their own goal.

I know him quite well. He's from North Shields. Not his best moment and he knows it.

the arsenal fan sat in the family encolsure is from shields? apparently he was throwing bottles around and kicking off before he was frogmarched out by some fans - not sure where the stewards were

There are stewards in the video unless CT has taken to wearing hig-vis vests to the match. Guy looks like he's keen to fight anyone, obviously wanted to make a right twat of himself.

He lives in Howdon. He's always been Arsenal. Utter bullshit about throwing bottles. He only kicked off when he was being attacked. There'll be 3 or 4 Toon fans in serious risk of losing their ST. Fella in blue SI shirt and bald bloke in black polo especially. Only folk he attacked were attacking him.

He knows he fucked up jumping up but that's all he did.

I have no problem watching an away game undercover with the home fans - I’ve done it several times myself - but you have to sit on your hands. You can’t be celebrating. I don’t condone what the home fans did but that’s football.

He didn't seem that keen on leaving and took a swing at the lad in the grey top who was in the row behind him after things had calmed a bit.

Mostly though... Fancy being an Arsenal fan living in North Shields AND thinking he could celebrate an Arsenal goal in the home end.

I've celebrated every time I've been in the home end for an away fixture when we've scored *. Cos I'm nails.

* Only happened twice, ManU and Arsenal, both times in corporate hospitality.

When we played PSV in 2004 I was sat in the 1892 with a mate.  There was a guy next to us in a suit who was wankered.  I thought he was just a pissed up lad who was on the lash from work.  I couldn't understand WTF he was saying.  Then PSV scored and I soon realised why, he was Dutch and a PSV fan  Some moaned about throwing him out, but a few said he was doing no harm.  He was on his own and causing no bother.  We won anyways.

Moist of the stewards are prepubescent kids on a zero hour contract gig.

I was aware of some disruption in the level beneath this (level 4 Milburn, poish seats) when they scored. Nothing like Liverpool a few years back, the year they won the league, there was carnage that night.

Personally man, I think its pathetic. I have no issue sitting next to someone who supports another team. That match years ago when Shearer score THAT goal, I was sitting next to full kit Everton wanker. Thought he was quite brave and he took the piss taking well enough. Had we lost though? No doubt someone would have had a pop.

My Father in law and brother in law were sat with us when we played Forest first game of the season.  No problems at all.  They just didn't mouth off and had a chat with some supporters.  Just don't act a cunt and you should be fine.

 I remember that match. I went with my wife and my sister, walking up Grey street a bunch of pissed up PSV kids (and I mean kids, must have been teenagers) tried to taunt us on the way up to the match. Honestly, it was so pathetic it was funny and I duly laughed. Those crazy Dutch.
