Democracy honks, especially this thread which is as corrupt as Putin's Russia. I mean the state of the title man. "Stuttering Brighton" have just beaten what were the champions elect until a month ago, and are guaranteed second. 3 fucking nil away from home. And why did he put "Stuttering"? Cos he jumped the gun after they were slaughtered by an Everton team HE told us were relegated!

It may be time to consider the unthinkable. Start a parallel thread for the true supporters. Salvage want we can. Abandon thread.

Is this the same Renton that spent the weekend in an argument with someone about how we didn't need to worry about Brighton ("is this the Brighton who just got hammered by Everton?" etc), and then discovered 35 games into the season that "Errr lads is anyone watching this Arsenal game? Turns out Brighton are fucking shit hot."

Literally arguing Brighton are shit on Sunday morning and arguing they're fucking amazing on Sunday evening.

Shut your entire face and let a REAL MAN who doesn't even know HOW to flip flop like that deal with this.

We'll edge it 2-1 I reckon. Definitely missing Longstaff and who'd have even considered saying that 12 months ago?

If Everton survive (again!) and we miss out on top 4 despite hitting the magic 66 points with games in hand, Gemmill’s reputation, already in tatters after last season’s Everton debacle, will hit a new low. A summer of soul searching beckons.

Don't worry about it lads. While you're all pointing fingers and looking for someone to blame (and watching child porn), I'll sort this shit out by guiding us through the last three games in the top 4.

i don’t think any of us really appreciated the work he does until this past few weeks when he’s missed a few games. The consensus was a midfield of Bruno-Joelinton-Willock would be fine but we’ve struggled to pick up points with that line up - it lacks balance. Underscores the need for midfield reinforcements this summer.

I’m not confident about Thursday at all. When I got tickets for this match I was hoping our top 4 status would have been secured and it would be a party atmosphere. I can see it being a tense evening. They’re going to have to be on their game to get a positive result.

You're fucking going to the match with that attitude reflected by your user name? Ffs. As bad as Gemmill tbh. Show some fucking cajones and stop this becoming a self fulfilling prophecy you southern Beeb supporting ponce.

From the final 3 games I can see:

Us getting 4 points

Liverpool WILL get 9.

Man Utd 7

What do we get from Brighton then?  Or are you assuming we get beat from Brighton?

I think there is a big chance they can turn us over. But even if we draw then going into the last game of the season we'll be nervy as fuck v Chelsea so that could go either way as well. I bet my left nut they'll turn up against us.

I sit somewhere between pessimism and realism. I've supported this club too long to be anything else.

Would anyone be confident of going to the Emirates and winning then going to old Trafford and doing the same a few days later? If anything that result on Sunday is a warning we need to be focused, cut out the shit, give them the respect they deserve and be on it all game plus be prepared to do a bit of defending. It's going to be a hard game but it's also going to be a hard game for Brighton after they've went to arsenal and twatted them to expect them to come up here and do it all again when, if anything, our need realistically is greater than Arsenal who in their hearts must've knew it was over anyway. Keep the faith, crank the noise up, don't be fucking fannies in the stands if Brighton are keeping possession, treat it like arsenal at home last year, patience when not on the ball and get at them when you can. Beat these and at the very worst we are four points ahead of Liverpool with two games left presuming they beat Leicester. If anything, Brighton might have just extra focused a couple of minds by beating arsenal so well. It's a tough ask for them as well to follow that up again up here a few days later. They're not Man City however good they play at times. :good:

I don’t think a point against Brighton is the worst result. I don’t expect us to dominate possession as we do in most games. They’re one of the most impressive teams I’ve seen this year. It’s the two points dropped on Saturday which could come back to haunt us.

I expect us to beat Leicester.

I think I were heading towards an inescapable conclusion: we’re going to need to go to get three points away at Chelsea on the final day

They've beaten Man Utd away, Arsenal away, drew with Liverpool away and narrowly got beat off Man City due to questionable refereeing.

They'll turn up for this and our style of play will suit them down to the ground.

I'm a bit worried about watching Dan Burn's head-tipped-back, silent movie style sprint against their runners on a break.

But I don't know if a) Targett is the answer or b) we should fuck with the formula.

I would definitely start Isak in the middle though. I think Howe will as well as he'll appreciate that we might need to change things if things don't go our way.

So assuming from our last 4 we get 5. and Liverpool get 9.  Along with your other predictions

1. City - Lots
2. Bottlers - Less than Lots

3. Man United - 73

4 Newcastle - 71 (Higher GD)

5. Bin Dippers - 71

Unless we get well and truly turned over that's how it will be.  Our highest defeat this season was v Villa.  We currently have 7 goals on Liverpool.  So IMO I think we are fine.
