Wonder what the book value of this one will go down as

Backup keeper, fine with that.

Now the PSR deadlines passed we will hopefully start making some real moves

Aye, if PSR is an issue then spending that sort of money on Trafford when he isn't an immediate upgrade on Pope wouldn't make sense. Though it does beg the question as to why we were in for him in the first place.

how on earth are we going to make up a song about him ?

This is from chatgpt. I've no idea how this goes to the tune of Seven Nation Army.

(To the tune of "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes)

🎶 Ohhh, Odysseas, our mighty wall,
With you in goal, we’ll never fall,
Vlachodimos, you’re our pride,
With every save, we stand and rise! 🎶

🎶 Ohhh, Odysseas, our number one,
With you in net, the battle’s won,
Vlachodimos, strong and true,
We're cheering loud, just for you! 🎶

Irrelevant but, I have Bader's autograph 👍

He was a canny cricketer, good behind the stumps.

I guess it's better than nothing. Fingers crossed he plays and performs well so we have a better chance of getting rid of him next season. What a disaster of a transfer deal it was bringing him into the club.

Can you imagine what utter bullshit we'll have to put up with if we ever end up in PSR trouble again? It'll be 10x worse than selling two promising youngsters and ending up with a 20m waste of space in return if this summer is anything to go by.

Considering the alternative to that deal was a points deduction and we got into the Champions League on goal difference I'd say it wasn't that much of a disaster.

Not accounting for what may have happened with the other two players tbf

I'm not for one second saying it didn't make some sense in the context of PSR. But I won't be convinced that that entire debacle was not the result of at least a significant lack of foresight. I appreciate the work Staveley did for us, of course, but that cannot blind us to the potential mismanagement of our PSR position during her tenure. We certainly can't afford to fall into that trap again because our opponents will be a lot more aggressive next time. I think we often forget that Staveley benefitted from operating in a much kinder landscape than these past few windows.

Apart from all that, in isolation, to address only the Greek's arrival at the club and subsequent (non-)role as a player, which is what I was talking about, it has been an unmitigated calamity of a transfer. We can make allowances for circumstances, but I'm sure we hoped there would prove to be some value in bringing in Greece's #1. Surely, it wasn't viewed as purely a PSR makeweight right from the outset. But it has proved to be exactly that. He is a balance sheet item to us now and nothing more. (Edit:) Actually, more than that, he appears to be an unretrievable, unsaleable, bad debt. Even given the circumstances that must be significantly less than expected/hoped.

Taking our interest out of it, wonder what it does for the players confidence. He's an international keeper and he's not even had so much of a sniff here and it does look like he was simply sold to us to cook the books, which he was probably aware of.
