He'll score the odd goal here and there, but I reckon his fall from grace will be rapid. Liverpool to replace him in a couple of years. I don't know about that like. He's an excellent player, we wouldn't be saying any of this if he was still here. I'm just enjoying how much he's struggling now, and how much everyone is talking about his struggles, but I don't really expect it'll continue long term.

Liverpool haven't looked brilliant but were going to walk away with it as they spawned a few results but now might be in transition? Sunderland look really good despite having the easiest and most fortunate set of circumstances with who they've played and still haven't played amazingly well, (by PL standards). We've been very solid but struggling to score, (we all know why) but this should be remedied yet we've struggled according to half the fuckers, we might have already had our season scuppered if we had real ambitions league wise but we're never finishing 11th. Isak the signing of the season until he's not. Ok. Aye, wasn’t there something along the lines of the title race being over after about 6 games? Like you say and others have pointed out, given the money spent and retaining most of their key players the latest ‘transition’ talk is mental.
Dazzler 15922
They just won the league and are now in transition is bollocks journo speak for "they've gotten shitter". None of them have the stones to say that Wirtz and Isak were terrible vanity purchases when their defence was completely fucked due to an ageing Van Dijk and a really shit Konate.

What you mean is you'll feel like you can say he's the best striker in the world now he plays for Liverpool. I'm sure they spent a record fee on a striker they thought had potential rather than someone who already looked like one of the best strikers in the world, same shit with Andy Cole when he went to Man U, he was a better player there apparently?

He hasn’t turned to shit but even with us he was very streaky at times. That’s fine when you’re at little old Newcastle but at the bestest club in the world and as one of the most expensive transfers in history he’s going to be under an awful lot more scrutiny and we can but hope that he wilts under the spotlight.

PaddockLad 22220
I remember a particularly bigoted old cunt who I worked with suggesting to me around then that we called Andy Cole "Blackie Milburn"... This must've been where he got it from as he was an avid reader of that particular err "newspaper" . Am not suggesting for a minute that the Gallowgate didn't have issues with racist chanting etc over the years but Andy Cole was so fucking good he made anything nasty lingering from previous times disappear almost instantly... There's no doubting he's a quality player but the protracted nonsense over the summer has pushed him centre-stage. Every move he makes is up for hyper-scrutiny and I just don't reckon he'll be able to live up to the hype that's been put his way. I agree we wouldn't be saying it if he was still with us - he'd have been able to focus simply on the football.

Delighted to see that Wirtz has taken a similar plummet as Isak in that Athletic piece. Also the centre half we famously overpayed for has jumped from 70th to 10th and now looks like a "Rolls-Royce type". It's almost like Howe and co know what they're doing.

Exactly. And we will be waiting. After all, his ancient Greek namesake had a promising career that ended very early, here's hoping Alexander the Rat follows suit.
