Well then given the bug going around, Bilbao's own injury problems and the fact we really need to step up in the league I hope Howe makes a number of changes here. Plus the likes of Gordon need to get the message they need to get their act together and perform in the league.

He has 4 goals in 3 games in the CL. He’ll definitely turn up tomorrow.

Exactly my point, he hasn't been himself in a less fancied fixture for sometime. And he's not the only one.

Saw an article on the BBC about them and one of the comments is from someone* saying it was Sunderland who gave them their strip idea which was then shut down by others.

*I wonder who it was?

Part 1 is a bit dull but theres two local lasses singing their tits off towards the end :D

sadly not mate. of all the games ive missed out on this one ranks right up there amongst the ones i regret the most.  :(

me daughter had just started school, there was only me working at the time so we were really skint. I used up what little pocket money I was allowed going to antwerp and my suggestion of dipping in to the child benefit payment and paying it back at a later date was met with a frosty reception.

I was travelling round the US in autumn 1994. I found a 3 week old copy of the Observer somewhere in Colorado and found that Bilbao had knocked us out but that it had been the trip to end all trips...

I couldn't get to any of our European games and this one, (and Antwerp as I bought a one year passport for it), rankles the most, especially when you heard the tales. Always the bridesmaid, just like NUFC used to be.

in fairness to mrs tbd she's always been incredibly tolerant to me nufc obsession so as long as I was prepared to fund it by working 60/70 hours a week and it didn’t interfere with the necessities she's never begrudged me the time away.

I met her in a country lane at 4am after the police had broken up an illegal acid house party about 4 mile outside of cheltenham, our first real date other than the pub was away at swindon town dec 30th '89. 1 -1 quinn scored our goal in first time injury time and id fucked off to the bog so she seen our first goal together and I missed it!

still never seen that goal!

A hideous mackem delicacy/treat apparently, some fucked up thing called a ‘pink slice’

Because it's a slice and it's pink... fucking hell, they truly are wordsmiths aren't they. That's up there with Blue Pop for innovation.
