The chants are true, he does like having his arse tampered with, as I've told you all before, he should be man enough to come out and admit it.

Whats there to be ashamed of?

It was either on here or Howaythetoon that i posted the tale of him and the page three boiler ( a good friend of my mates sister), her wanting rode and him having something far seedier in mind, bottom antics tbh, allegedly.

On the subject of crap chants, the dick sitting a few along from me with his repeated Auschwitz/Hitler jokes was getting right on my tits. ;)

I think I heard him. Was he sat towards the aisle in your row (you're in J, right?)? Wasn't convinced I was hearing what I was hearing but you've just confirmed it.

Was that Leazes level 7? I never saw him but my mate said some fat twat in an England strip was zeig heiling doing the whole tache and salute thing.

On the Gay thing.... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1443679,00.html

From next season, fans who bombard players with anti-gay abuse could be banned from grounds and signs will be displayed around pitch perimeters to force the message home. Racist abuse currently carries a maximum fine of £400 and a three-year banning order.

I laughed my arse of at the chants and joined in if they got going. But I felt bad for the lad. If he gets found in a lock-up Justin Fashanu style it would be hard to justify the abuse.

Nah, Milburn Level 7 mate. There was also a bloke in a Spurs top and a bloke in a Liverpool top (????) who were obviously together, who got shifted by the stewards just after Spurs scored. Presumably they were being relocated for celebrating, the mongs!

You think I'm bad you wanna try being a lefty on some right wing American forums for a laugh, the scary thing is those bastards have guns.

What? It's not the right wingers you have to worry about with guns. It's the left wingers who run the media who want to piss on the Constitution that guarantees our God-given rights... not the "rights" that the government allows you to have. That's why the right wingers love their guns.

So, toonpack. How long til you get banned from this one??? (SKOL VIKINGS!)

I wonder how much abuse he would have got if he was really gay and had come out rather than just the scurrilous rumours about his imaginative mobile phone adventures!

Are there any self-confessed gay footballers playing in the Premiership?

I'm with Gemmill on this one and I'm astonished that a respected member of the board is trying to say it's acceptable.

Using someone's sexuality or race in a derogatory matter is wrong ffs.

Well, here in the States, while your right to free speech is somewhat protected by our Constitution; marching down Castro Street in San Fransisco chanting, "Death to Fags!" (protected free speech) isn't very wise. You are liable to get your hair parted with a metal pipe.

If such conduct (the demeaning chants) occurred at one of our stadiums, the loudmouths perps typically end up covered with beer and in angry verbal exchanges with people who came to enjoy the game, not to listen to some drunken assholes smart off about someones sexuality. They are soon escorted out. The ticket to the game allows you to enjoy the game; it doesn't give you licence to say/do whatever you want.

My $.02

Homophobic tbh.

You wouldn't catch me saying such horrible things

BTW Hugh is a Mackem, he IS a yank as well so he's doubly cursed, he might even be gay. His "wife" is Norwegian although I think she's called Olaf

Why do you always have to say such nasty things about me?

I might be a shirtlifter, but don't be so vulgar as to call me a Mackem.

Besides, your son was the best piece of ass I've had in a long time. He's the only "wife" for me...

I'd agree that homophobic chants shout be cut out, no matter if funny. But, in todays society this would ring true:

"You're a twat, a fecking twat, f*ck off and die" (while taking a corner)

"Give it your best, just like I did with your wife" (While taking a penalty)

"Come any closer and we'll kill ya f*cking pr*ck" (from a throw in)

"F*cking gayboy" (at the shout of this all and sundry go up in arms, Oooooo you cant say that!

;)

maybe I didnt put the point forward very well, is it homophobic to state that someone takes it up the arse? what constitutes homophobic chanting? is the following racist? "Shola is black", its quite clear that "Shola is a black ba....." would be racist but Im not sure the first is. Therefore is "JJ takes it up the arse"?

I suppose the problem lies in the fact that "such-and-such takes it up the arse", like "black bastard", is clearly meant to be incendiary and aimed at provoking a response. "JJ is gay", true or otherwise, wouldn't be - and it'd make for a pretty shit chant, too  - but you have to assume that you're not supposed to read between the lines of the former and come up with "JJ takes it up the arse, and what a fine example of our modern society it is that a young man can be open about his sexuality in this day and age. Hurrah for JJ!" :)

As for me, the Sisterhood would probably confiscate my rainbow badge for this, but I've never really had a bee in my bonnet about people firing gay-related taunts about the place, whether at me or at public figures - as long as they show some kind of humour and imagination. So: "takes it up the arse" bad, "taxi for Rockshots" good. ;) I can't really explain why, to be honest, since you could argue the intent (and the inherent accuracy/inaccuracy) is the same in both cases and I'm just being hypocritical. It's like I always have a good laugh at whatever Smooth Operator or Wacky fire my way on here, "brown love" and all - I know they're canny lads, some of the stuff they come up with is very bloody funny (not to mention scarily accurate - I do worry about them sometimes ), and I couldn't give a damn what they think about gay people in real life since it doesn't particularly affect my day-to-day existence (except in an "overall societal acceptance" way, and fuck knows neither of them are that influential :)).

Anyway, JJ might be a top for all we know. :slap:

Sadly homophobia is socially acceptable in society in Britain. Certainly more so than racism for example. That doesn't make it right though and I wouldn't participate in it and I think it's just as bad as racism really, i.e. a horrible prejudiced based on ignorance. I gave JJ some well-deserved (non-homophobic) stick when he missed that open goal though, obviously.

I couldn't hear any homophobic chanting where I was. We were giving him a canny bit of stick as well, but ours was more taking the piss out of him going backwards and sideways all the time. By the way, 4 times, that's how many times Sven's midfield linchpin passed the ball forwards in 90 minutes. I think he deserved stick on Saturday like, but homophobic chants are fucking low like.

Homophobic chanting is almost as sad as counting the amount of times a player makes a forward pass in a match ;)

Again though, in playing agent provocateur, I could add that we tend to think its ok to shout at someone that they will die in some horrid way, or other general hostile abuse, but as soon as you use the words "black" or "gay" you are the devil incarnate. My personal point is that Society itself is so mixed up with its own views and people trying to be "right and just". No we shouldnt judge anyone on colour or sexual preference (though I dont see the harm in using it for observational purpose, in other words its not always whats said but the meaning behind whats said), but equally we shouldnt threat to kill someone, yet in joking that is acceptable. Odd.

Its a horrible subject and the easiest view to take is one of the extremes. I agree completely with Meenzer. the thing is if you're going to take the view that those chants are homophobic then so is a lot of the humour on this board. I know Gemmill said in the thread on NO that theres a difference between him calling his mate gay for a laugh and those chanting at Jenas. When it coems down to it though there isnt. They both reinforce that being gay is in someway a negative. Its an incredibly difficult thing to do but theres got to be some judgement on the context
