Been thinking of ya Stevie. For someone I only know through posts on an internet forum to some may sound silly, but it is the truth. Head up mate. You'll ride this one out.

I'm just waiting for the post op rant when his memory returns and he realises he is now living in "shitey" south Tyneside "a stone's throw" from the stadium of light", virtually married to a woman from an area "where the women arnt as beautiful as they are in Newcastle".

Good luck Stevie ;)

Just had some food delivered from Asda. Ordered 6 packets of diced chicken 3 for a tenner. They substituted them and 'price matched' from £5 to £4... but the 3 for a tenner wasn't price matched so they charged me £24. Had to pull them up on that for a refund. Driver does it for me no problem.

So I'm putting it all in the cupboards, the loaf of bread they sent is before before the 26th. So they've sent me a loaf with a 37 hour expiry. And 2 of my eggs are cracked!

Email sent in annoyed tone.

All worthwhile to avoid actually going inside one.

I use Asda delivery too but just for heavy/bulky/frozen stuff as we don't have a car. We always still get fresh stuff separately because I don't trust them to pick decent things and transport it properly.

I only used 'em because a £10 off voucher thing came through the door. Never had problems with expiry dates when I've used Sainsburys. Had an apple earlier as well and they're dry as sticks They've just sent me all the unsold stuff off the shelves

Exactly that here too (well, Tesco, but same rationale), plus there's a really good cheap 'n' cheerful fruit and veg market near here - the markup the supermarkets make on that kind of thing is eye-watering sometimes... Wouldn't trust the supermarkets to give me decent fresh stuff when ordering online, though I think Tesco at least have "4+ days fresh" guarantees and things like that on some items?

Some good information here Stevie on Cancer Research UK

http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-help/type/brain-tumour/treatment/statistics-and-outlook-for-brain-tumours

Your pathology results will tell you what type of tumour you have and the grade.

The type of tumour will tell you what sort of brain cells the tumous came from. The types of cells it has come from and the position / role of those cells in the brain will affect how easy it is to remove with surgery. If they are saying yes to surgery this is good news.

The grade of the tumour essentially refers to how different the cells in the tumour are to the normal cells. Cancer cells are normal cells gone wrong, the extent to which the cells are 'wrong uns' determines the grade. The more 'wrong un' they are, the more they dont obey the normal 'cell rules' (e.g. create new ones when old ones are damaged and kill the old ones aka 'apoptosis'; when the old cells are no longer needed)

'Malignancy' is therefore defined by the grade which in turn defines how fast the tumour grows.

The bottom line:

Find out the type of tumour and aks for the specific type. If he says its a Glioma say 'what type' until he either says there is no other name or 'its an astrocytoma'.

Find out the grade (usually on a scale of 1 to 4).

Find out the extent of diffusion and invasion of the tumour into surrounding nearby healthy cells. A clearly defined tumour with easy to see edges is easier to remove. The problem with surgery is that you can leave behind microscopic pieces of tumours next to healthy cells which is how they come back after surgery.

Some great advice there Chez thanks a lot. All the information I've had so far has been incredibly vague from them, "we don't know that yet", "we don't know this yet", I feel like saying well have a look at the scans properly you daft cunts! The top end surgeon who's looking after me I haven't even met yet and it's a woman believe it or not, just the registrar who happens to be Greek called Achilles so far. The term registrar doesn't mean they're an admin boy, just that they're not top end surgeons yet. So another weekend of wondering. I haven't had a drink since Tuesday now, and I'm choking for one, but my lass has been a saint. I've started my course of Carbamazepine which apparently will stop me collapsing and having seizures again.

I imagine its difficult to ask the right questions when you're in the situation too. Let me know the name of the specialist (you can pm me if you want).

Its not Ruth Plummer is it? She was Sir Bob's consultant. She's at the Newcastle Foundation trust.

That sounds really sexist. I just hope she knows what she's doing the bint ;-)

Ridiculous I was told today was today and now I have to wait till next week, because there's too many people got tumours this week. Great country we live in eh?

My memory is all over the place at the minute, but I'm sure she's called Bev. Sounds more like she works in Morrisons than being a top end brain surgeon. I'm sure she'll be fine though. I'll find out her full name and PM you Chez.

Anyway just read the football page, this cunt essembee, seriously in the history of this board that is the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. Either a potential mass murderer or mentally disabled or a mackem struggling for humour.
