 Nearest equivalent from my world is this masterpiece that tried (and failed) to get the German ticket to Eurovision in 1986.

And yes, the band is called "Mister Fisto".

House we are buying has been valued today and mortgage gone through. Kind of wish we had waited a few weeks, might have got a few quid off.

I envisage many months of our lass whamping on about tiles and other shite, while I’m trying to build an extension.

Just 5-6 doors, probably a garden gate as well. Current ones are alright but they're pretty old, a few of the handles fall off and one won't close fully.

Eventually we'll need the kitchen doing and a staircase up to the attic, but they're both a ways off yet.

Stop getting divorced then!

This is outrageous. This is the most entertained anyone has ever been by a Renton post and it celebrates the breakdown of the institution of marriage.

Shame on Toontastic. SHAME!

I've had a huge fuck on with internal doors. My builder decided to remove and skip all my doors without permission so I've had to replace. If it's a standard sized door it's not too bad, budget around 50 to 80 quid per door for fitting, plus the door (about £200 towards for a solid oak pre finished one). Oh, and you need to budget for iron mongery.

However, two of my door were non standard sizes, and it's been a right fuck on getting them fitted.  £300 each so far, but they've ruined the plaster work which needs redoing now. Worst, the builder removed and skipped my inside porch door which was art deco period and, yes, was fitted with stain glass windows. We recovered the door itself from the dump and had it refurbished, but it needs reglazed. In total I reckon this door is costing over 2k, cos some idiot builder skipped it without permission. Criminal.

Fucking hell. You can't take him to court or owt?

All ours are standard size, no glazing or anything, so it should be reasonable. Though saying that, the Mrs likes pinterest and instagram, so I've no doubt there'll be some weird door that opens like a camera aperture that she just has to have.

From experience at my previous house you either need a builder specialising in period properties or you need to project manage if yourself if you don’t want all the period features knackered.

My house (30s semi) didn't have much original features left anyway, seemed to be a spat of cultural vandalism in the 60s and 70s where everything was ripped out. The one remaining thing was this door, so I was more than a bit pissed off to find it was skipped. I'm just going to get it restored as best as I can but fuck me it's expensive.

I will ask the lads at work if any of them want any work

Just realised I’ve never met you and you might be a weirdo. If one of the lads does fancy it, don’t be too strange I have to work with these people
