An old gaffer phoned me last week.  A group of us usually catch up a few times a year but he's been away or busy etc..  Was great catching up with him anyway and I am meeting him for a beer tomorrow.

Anyway, when chatting last week he asked if I was looking for a move.  Things have been a bit wank at work this year with lack of organisation from the top. Us as a team have been alright but the atmosphere is tense AF.  We have all said the frustration etc should be and is aimed at management and not us and on the whole we have been grafting and helping each other the best we can. Anyway, this seed the gaffer planted has been growing this week and Monday I am off for a chat with his gaffer and him to see what is what.

Its a lot bigger company and a slightly different role.  It would mean going back to 5 day weeks though.  I know a few others there and they all sing its praises. Like all places has its negatives but where doesn't? I am just going with an open mind to see what's what anyway.

Probably worth getting advice from @Howmanheyman. He's the resident expert. 👍

To pay for this new "Northumberland" line to Ashington, Nexus are increasing their travel Cap next week from £5 to £6.20. A 20% increase in my travel costs then. As its up to me how much I go in, I'll just drop from 2 days a week to once, so nexus will lose out. This alongside the £3 bus fare cap is just a deterrent to office working for those who have the choice. Genius. Transport in this country is a fucking joke.

It's going to save me a fortune in Uber's back to Delaval on the occasions I visit the town, so basically, fuck you 👍

Are you travelling through more zones because of the new zones now or something? I’ll still be one zone only for work and two on the rare time I go to town. So the cap for those remains the same for me.

I've noticed this Liquid Death drink turning up on TV shows and some things on YouTube and assumed it was some new energy drink.

Just googled it and it's fucking water (natural artesian water if you please). Cans of water. For £4.49 a can.

Suddenly the OAP is very interested.

I can hold my water thanks, although a precautionary piss is mandatory before leaving a pub, whether I feel the need to or not (just in case).

One of the cats managed to sneak past us last night and get out and the little fucker has been lost for almost 24 hours now. He’s a totally indoor cat so I’m praying that he’s just holed up in a garden or garage nearby but my head is fucking wrecked with worry. I know they can find their way back but as it stands, I’m sitting outside with thermals and about 3 layers on, by the front door if he ventures back and I’ll be here until sunrise no doubt. So aye, shit Sunday

Ah that's shite. At least it's been a relatively mild one weather wise. Hope he turns up back for you tonight.

Mine are outdoor cats but have all done the thing where they disappear for over 24 hours, and they eventually work it out and get back. If he's got a bed or owt he lies on or particularly likes and rubs his face on, leave it outside. Their sense of smell is wild and hopefully he'll pick up on it.
