Meenzer 17787
This New Zealand local election has the perfect candidate. I'd vote for him. https://voteauckland.co.nz/en/information-for-voters/candidates/waitakere-ranges-local-board/GDEMW.html

Andrew 7284
I mean, I agree with everything he's said on his policy breakdown, apart from the 'dont vote for jamaine' bits so I'd vote for him.

Gemmill 61822
Anyone got any ideas about volunteering opportunities around Newcastle? We get a day a year to take and there's a few of us wanting to do something, ideally outdoors, but would take anything. When I try searching online, it tends to be for enduring volunteering roles rather than a one dayer.

The one we did as a group was some charity work for stables for disabled kids to do horse-riding. A day of refencing their grounds and painting a barn. Hard work but massively rewarding. Perhaps a reach out to local charitable trusts to see if there's anything you could do for them?
Gemmill 61822
Nice one cheers. I've since found a decent site with loads of things on it so I've registered my interest for a couple of things next month. I'm expecting to be a pretty hot property and VERY in demand.

I’ve got some sofas need taking to the tip and an all round garden tidy if you fancy it?

He could nip around to mine and make the missus a cuppa while she's watching Grey's Anatomy or talk to her about her family tree research.

Can't you just go to a local place, like Craig has suggested and tell them you have a group of you what needs doing? Place I used to work we did that at a local stables that helped bairns. We approached them, did some general maintenance then ended up going back once a year and just helped them with all sorts of stuff. It was a great day tbf. I may suggest that to the new place. Gemmill 61822
I've registered my interest in some sedate bulb planting and some more strenuous rake work. First come, first served. I'm mainly just looking forward to the day away from work.

Craig 11963
Proud dad moment. My eldest took herself on the uni journey, graduated and is going well for herself in the Insurance sector. My youngest, whilst really switched on when it comes to numbers, isn’t at all academic and made it clear when he left school last summer he was on the hunt for work. Whilst he’s had a job with Clarks since he was 16 they cut him back to core hours only and he’s been getting no more than 8 hours a week. Needless to say it’s been a shit journey for him but today was offered a role as an accounts assistant with a firm who are going to fund his ATT. Made up for him.
