I'm more struck by the brazen sensibilities these days that wouldn't even be paranoid enough to wipe them.

Aye, that is telling actually.

Although I strongly feel that people who are around 30 now were the last good generation to come out of Britain  :D The state of what's coming through their 20s at the moment is fucking terrifying.

I've never understood the concept of sending a picture of your cock and balls to some poor lass, unless she asks for it. Even then, what kind of composition will you get from doing it yourself? It'll be terribly framed unless you're a contortionist. I'd need a wide angle lens as well

Although mostly it does seem the kind of thing that's designed to lead to disappointment down the line. "It looked more impressive with that Prisma filter on it", or something

That goes both ways like.

The women when I was growing up were pretty depraved.  How fucking old are you lot?

about to turn 38. i think i just missed out on this era. you might have been lucky enough to meet a filthy lass in my day, but she certainly wouldn't have openly discussed what you got up to or shared it with the world. there wasn't social media then but it's hard to imagine a lass being so proud, as they seem to be today, that she'd want to tell all her friends and post videos of it on the internet or whatever.

This very article existing, in GQ no less, is another excellent example of this torrid world we've created

Do you reckon if you'd had mobile phones when you were at school, this kind of thing wouldn't have happened?

Also, I'm not sure it's actually all that legit to store hordes of these photos on your PC - that has to be a child porn issue, surely? In Gemmill's story, the kid whose laptop that was could actually be charged with distribution ffs. You see stories like this is the news from time to time.

i'm sure teenagers today or no more horny than we were. but they're definitely more crude and less inhibited on the evidence i've seen. i'm sure mobile technology, the rise of online porn and social media have collectively played a big part in that.

Yeah, that's the primary thing I think has changed.  It was always going on, it was just behind closed doors.

I think to some extent it's very liberating for women to be open about the fact they are as disgusting as men.

People of all ages are sharing dick pics and the like on Tinder btw.  Wouldn't do it myself, but I don't judge.

When I was at school 20 years ago a few of the lads broke in and shit in the biology teachers kettle yet none of my 6 younger cousins have ever appeared in the news for dildo related high jinx.  All are well balanced in work and long term relationships.

i wouldn't make too many overarching assumptions about da yoof based on anecdotal extremes of young misbehaviour.

adios is from Ireland anyway. Everybody knows that Irish catholic girls only take it up the arse for fear of pregnancy.

Most of my sexual experiences were in England; you filthy, filthy people.

I was on tinder for a couple of days. It's psychologically damaging. We haven't evolved to the point where we can just scan a hundred lasses in ten minutes. I found myself muttering "too many hats" under my breath as I swiped a lass out of my life. Fucking too many hats!? What does that even mean - I actually meant it as well.

Aye, but I think we can all agree that Renton has missed out at least. ;)

I do wonder if it would have been good to have the internet, mobiles etc. in my "only gay in the village" days, but I'd probably only have ended up getting groomed by some hairy fat bloke from Blackburn or something.

Fucking hell. Not been single while Tinder has been in existence. Has it changed very much?

This happened to a friend of mine, not that it seemed to do him any harm that he's mentioned. I think the guy was actually from the North West

I'm dead pleased none of it existed when I was at school. The constant bombardment of Facebook and instagram. You wouldn't have had time to think.

 Seems like a solid reason to me.

I tried it briefly too.  The saddest part was swiping past some hot young thing saying "too young".

This was about a year ago. It's not a place for a balding former accountant with a sensational sense of humour. It's designed mostly for orange people that like to send dick pics.

I got talking to a copper on there who loved to refer to herself as a "cop". Alright arsehole, you live in Spennymoor not New York, you're a "pig" at best. Constantly asking me how much I liked to train and telling me how she was obsessed with the gym. Weeeeee are not hitting it off. [emoji38]
