Well, after the wife had an assessment from some 'medical professional' about the move from DLA to PIP, quelle fucking surprise, they must've stopped her award. I say 'must've' not 'have' as we've only found out from a letter today from motability telling us they'll be taking our car on the 28th this month and if we're in the middle of an appeal they'll still be taking the car. So, considering we haven't even found out from the DWP yet about their decision, (but they were quick enough to inform motability), I'm not holding out much hope of getting a decision about an appeal before the car goes, leaving us without any transport. This is the fucking state of this country now, victimisation of the disabled and their families. The 'medical professional' was a joke, clearly scripted and the non examination had us suspecting the worst at the time, the kid couldn't even pronounce her condition and appeared to never have even heard of it. It's just as well these things are done over the phone as I'm fucking raging here, mind. I'd personally love to have a discussion about this with Ian Duncan Smith or one of the party members who have taken over the reins but I'm not sure whether the NHS would be keen on treating them after a discussion. Fucking shaking with rage, here. They blatantly haven't looked at any notes from doctors, professors and specialists at all. Pleased CT isn't on here ATM as I'm not in the mood.

After 6/7 months and a wasted internal appeal we finally got our independent tribunal at HM court. We were in an hour and already presented further evidence which, unlike the DWP, they were happy to look at. The wife not only has had her higher rate of mobility reinstated but they've upped her care component to more than she was originally getting before this shit show kicked off so you could describe it as a result and we're very relieved, (she broke down crying when they made their decision). I'm also relieved but angry that so many people, some of whom are very vulnerable and not as determined as us, have had to put up with this absolutely, politically motivated, crock of shit. So the DWP took her care from standard to fucking zippo, yet the independent tribunal has not only raised it to standard but increased it to higher as well as putting the higher rate on mobility back. The DWP didn't turn up at the hearing which is just as well as they were found to have lied a bit like that one punch scouser on here who reckoned he was a professional comedian and would've walked out with their tail between their legs*.

*in reality they'd have shrugged their shoulders and put it down to percentages and thought of the money saved by those too put off/vulnerable to get evidence together and go through the months of stress this entails. Fucking shame on the government.

Well done, mate. Really pleased for the pair of you. The only sour taste in the mouth is that it highlights what so many others will be going through who don't have the will and/or resources to fight it the way you have.

CT will be fucking seething.

Actually the judge was from Northern Ireland so when nobody was looking I caught her eye and gave her the old Gazza/flute impression with accompanying wink which she returned with a knowing wink and a nod of her head so I knew we'd be sound. (So I did). ;)

Right I tore them to shreds on abuse allegations but got sacked for threatening behaviour. A backstabber I was pming on facebook has had a screenshot coaxed out of him where I say "I hope he sacks me I'll torture him". Clearly hyperbole meaning I'd torture him using procedure but they're taking it literal. How would that stand up at a tribunal alongside my diagnosed stress? Fuck sake, I'll be posting Trivia threads this time next week

You'll be foaming about them but sounds like you're best out of it long-term. (I did have a similar scenario a while back if you remember although I never PMd anybody). ;)

fuckin hate the place anyway tbh, it's Gestamp btw now i'm gone I'm not fuckin gagged. Used to be Thyssenkrupp, bought out by the spaniards who proceded to lower the wages of all new recruits. I was on a thyssenkrupp contract so on the higher rate so they'll have wanted rid anyway. Fuck them

Not sure how they can prove the Facebook thing. If they think it's legit, ask them why they haven't reported it to the police. Totally ridiculous means of sacking someone, that.

They got me on wilful breach of an act of safety for tossing a discarded bolt into a crate, it bounced up and another lad caught it. The lad put a statement in saying i'm a non aggressive lad, that they were no malice in it and that I was as surprised as him that it bounced up. So that and the facebook thing. He said he agreed with me about the manager that accused me of being abusive about a dozen times without being able to provide a single quote is full of shit. It was some little witch who's worked there for 3 weeks and i've never even spoken to that reported the bolt thing and i got drink/drug screened for it. Took a while for the lines to come up but they did and I passed. In the investigation the investigating manager says he'd have considered a second test and they talk about that. I argued that if 2 company managers aren't willing to accept that I was 100% drug and alcohol free after passing the screenings then how can any evidence be considered in my favour? I just want to know how a tribunal would see it tbh, not holding out much hope with the appeal because the HR manager is a self-important wanker

If you are in a union try them. If not I think unless you have a load of money to throw at solicitors, you're wasting your time.

Gestamp are a horrible company. My daughters boyfriend has just escaped from there after a year and a half.

Do you have a trade as such? Some companies will overlook dismissal etc if you have a trade that they are desperate for.

If money's tight and there's nothing ideal about, don't forget taxi'ing. It's something you can be doing very quickly in good money to pay all those bills. It's helped a lot of people out of the shit in your situation.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Quiff. Sounds like you work for a shithouse of a company and are better off out anyway. Probably a blessing in disguise in the long term.

Great news, HMHM.

Your story is both heart-warming and enraging.  Would be nice if we lived in a world where not showing up and being proven to be lying was newsworthy; the absolute knackers.
