By the way, judging by Lowes' response to our goals, he MUST have been sat too close to some mackems or something because you would have barely known we'd scored. Went from my local into town, Shearers, Sports Cafe, Hotspur, Adelphi after various rumours went around of where it was being shown. Then a lass rang us and said she had rang a pub and they said the match was on. Se we went. Sat with the toothless one eyed locals in the Villa Victoria (Rye Hill) after walking up from the toon. Only to find out when they said the match was on, she meant Man U Spurs, silly bint. Then we found out another pub (John Gilpin in West Denton) was showing it so off we went, walked in to the Arabic channel and it was showing the Boro game! So another taxi and back to the sports cafe where we stayed for the rest of the game, arriving just as Shearer scored the pen. Weird day. Me and Mark got at 2, claimed our seats and waited. It got to 3 and the Landlord start flicking through the channels, it got to 20 past and he still couldn't find it (Cheer went up when he found some Japanese porn channel though). Said he'd text me if he did find it anywhere. When he said he couldn't I asked him if it was on in the Hotspur, but he said that's where he was! Fucking gutted it wasn't on anywhere. First half in the Strawberry was fine, but walked along to Haymarket and none of the pubs that way had it on Had to run back to the Strawberry and missed the start of the second half. It was heaving like and a good laugh. Especially when people were still going mad from the first goal when we won the pen. We couldn't even hear if it was a pen till it went in.
