According to Location, Location, Location the five worst places to live in Britain are:

1 Hull

2 Nottingham

3 Strabane (Northern Ireland)

4 Hackney

5 Middlesbrough

Smogville faired badly due to the crime, pollution, environment, education standards and health/lifestyle standards

Dr Kenneth, does your source say the 5 best places to live in Britain?

It did, but I can't remember them all. Epsom in Surrey was number one.

And I think Harrogate was third.

Sounds a real classy joint! :(

There's an idea of a new thread - Classy Joints around the UK (or places to avoid unless in desperate need of a shag) :(

I agree with the rest, but I think the education standards here are quite good actually

I stopped watching it early on as it came across as a bit snobbish. They started taking the piss a little bit which is a bit unfair, especially as the first two 'worst' places were two wards of severe deprevation caused by an industry collapse. Hardly the fault of a lot of people who live there. Surprise surprise, the 'best' places I saw were London commuter zones.

They also created some sort of unexplained rule where a London district only appeared once despite the fact they were looking at all 400-odd districts in the country.

Poorly done imo.
