..Roeder's quote in the press today??

'...this is the best squad of players I've ever had.'  ;)

Was he taking the piss out of you know who?? ;)  :puke:

I hope he was, but think that the man is above such things!

When you think of the way that prick Souness is spouting his utter bullshit on tv about how we're only doing well because all the players are back is a disgrace to everything Roeder has done.

You'd think just one person on tv with the twat could have the balls to say "give it a fucking rest Graham, Roeder has had as many if not more injuries than you, had no Owen, injuries to Shearer, at times only 4 fit defenders one of whom was Boomsong! Yet he's got on with it and never once blamed luck, injuries or refs, you talentless fuckwitt."

Has Souness actually had the balls to come out with that bollocks?

Roeder's had it as bad with injuries. The difference is he has the ability to coach and motivate the players.

If he's said that it's a fucking disgrace to undermine Roeder's achievements! ;)

Aye, Souness said as much on some SKY programme last week about the injuries being the reason we've improved.

Reckon it's definitely a sly dig from Glen. He did something similiar a few weeks after taking over, subtely hinting in an interview that Souness was absolutely clueless.

Thing about Roeder is he seems a very smart fella, and would make sure that his digs were easy to pass off as coincidence.

From the Observer yesterday:

The absence of Shearer, Owen, Scott Parker, Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer would have provoked a torrent of excuses from their former manager Graeme Souness. Under Glenn Roeder, they just got on with their job in a purposeful and organised manner that showed why a majority of Newcastle's supporters now want him to be offered the job on a permanent basis.

Not sure about the majority spoken about in the last sentence, but I'm sure the Souness-obsessed will love the first sentence. ;)

"When you look at the six or so players we've got injured, any team in the country would miss them," said the Scot.

"Take six of Manchester United's, Arsenal's, Liverpool's or Chelsea's best players away and see what type of team they could put out."

That is exactly what Souness would say, however its always easy not to blame injuries for your 3-0 victory.

Roeder is definately a pretty sharp guy who in his time here has made several comments that could be nothing other than showign what a complete cock the previous manager was for missing something that Roeder sees as blatantly obvious. But he does it without actually calling Souness a talentless fuckwitt and lets other people arrive at that conclusion themselves!
