Giving mix CDs to your housemates sounds a bit Brokeback tbh. ;)

Although I will accept that as the reason that it needs to go on a CD. You should splash out and get them both iPod Shuffles filled with these tunes though, you gyppo!

that's actually not a bad idea Gem... trouble is, they've already got iPods, Can't exactly surreptiously pinch them, upload the songs and return them.

even if I could .. it makes it a bit of a shit "going away" present, can't unwrap it, it'd be more of a ".. oh that's a good song..." kind of reaction.

and alex.... what in the name of Josephs bastard son is a "boid"?

Bird in New York speak. I don't know how I expected anyone to pick up on that tbf

In fact, I doubt a New Yorker would say "bird" for a woman, would they? I'll shut up.

Here's an idea then. Create the playlists and then burn them as data CDs instead of audio (i.e. as actual mp3 files). That way all they need is a computer to transfer them from the CD onto their ipod and you can fit hundreds of songs instead of 20 max or whatever.

This is why I'll never have a career sitting on my arse asking people "Have you tried turing it off, then on again?"

Looking through some of my playlists, these are a few of the most repeated tracks from them. Songs I never skip if they come on...

Blur - We've Got A File on You (Loud, Short and Sweet)

Yann Tiersen - A Quai (A joy to walk down the street on a sunny day to)

Genius GZA - Liquid Swords (Embarassed myself many a time bobbing my head to it on public transport).

Jurassic 5 - Jayou

US3 - Cantaloop (Funky! Funky!)

Sufjan Stevens - Come On! Feel The Illinoise!

Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke (Love the way he says "Basie, Miller, Satchmo")

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now

Roots Manuva - Witness (1 Hope)

RJD2 - Ghostwriter

The Ramones - Beat On The Brat

As discussed elsewhere, popular stuff is generally shit!

I wouldn't class myself as a "popular music" type of gal but some of the stuff you lot come up with must be well below underground... :( I might have myself a look see at some of your "uber" stuff :(

If you totalled sales of the artists on our lists, I think mine would have more. (though U2 might spoil it)

Me.

I listen to Girls Aloud, watch Big Brother, eat at Macdonalds and buy King Kong on DVD. I'm about as elitist as Chantelle tbh.

But she'd agree that chart stuff is mostly shite.
