PS3 is going to be about as long lived as the PSP tbh.

 

Likewise, Blu-Ray will be the next in sonys long line of fandabidozee inventions such as betamax, minidisc etc.

Stand alone Blu-Ray players are actually dearer than the PS3 itself so if Blu-Ray takes of the PS3 will sell shed loads. That's probably what Mr. Sony is banking on.

Big if. Its a bag of shit at the minute and HD-DVD is definitely the more impressive since it was launched. On top of that both formats have a hard battle, I cant see many people willing to upgrade to either for a long while. It not going to be the same as the PS2 and DVD
