Notts County boss Steve Thompson has made striker Junior Mendes his tenth summer signing at Meadow Lane.

The 29-year-old moves to the League Two club following his release from League One club Huddersfield Town at the end of last season.

Despite attracting the interest of several sides, Mendes has opted to continue his career with the new-look Magpies.

The former Mansfield Town player will be familiar with League Two football, having played last season on loan with Northampton Town and Grimsby Town.

"Junior was happy with the terms we offered him, and obviously we are delighted because we've faced some stiff competition for his services," Thompson told County's official website.

"He went down to speak to Torquay and Bristol Rovers as well as a League One club, so we are pleased he has chosen us.

"Junior offers strength, goals and experience. He can play wide right too, so he offers us some options in terms of attacking."

Bastards got me all going there. :D
