Carlos Tevez is at the center of a row with Corinthians supporters after gesturing for the crowd to be silent during a recent game.

The gifted Argentina international currently plies his trade in Brazilian football for giants Corinthians but thus far their league performances have been dire.

Tevez scored a leveller in a recent league clash as Corinthians scrapped a draw with Fortaleza, before electing to put a finger to his lips when celebrating in front of a passionate faithful that prior to his goal had been jeering the team.

In Brazil, supporters have a special kind of power at their respective clubs and now, a leader of the notorious supporters' group Gavioes da Fiel (Hawks of the Faithful) has warned Tevez that an apology is expected.

Gavioes vice-president Wildner Rocha has suggested that should Tevez fail to concur with his wishes then a concerted and organised campaign against him will be orchestrated from the terraces.

''If he thinks he is above us, let's see how Tevez faces an organised campaign on our part,'' Gavioes told the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper.

''Nobody can stand the constant pressure. They (the players) are not prepared for this and we are.

''To begin with, we want him to talk to the fans and concentrate on the team.''
