United drawn against Latvian side Ventspils

How are Gretna seeded if they've never been in Europe before? Is it just because their Scottish?

Yeah, it's based on how well the national team does and how well other teams from that country do as well as your own success. So compared to the other teams in the qualifiers, they have a fairly good coefficient, in terms of the competition proper, they are fairly low down and aren't seeded for the full cup, just the qualifier.

Liverpool face a trip to Israel after being drawn against Maccabi Haifa in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

Arsenal will meet either Finnish side My-Pa 47 or FC Copenhagen as they also try to reach the group stage.

 

Hearts will play Greek side AEK Athens if they beat Bosnian side Siroki Brijeg in the second qualifying round.

 

Cork City could play AC Milan if they win their second qualifying fixture against Crvena Zvezda

I take back what I said, apparently they do have an airport but it appears to average something like 300 flights a year. :D

 

I guess people will be flying into Riga after all... :blush:

It's on the coast, it has an airport, and it hosted the Latvian national final for Eurovision in 2003.

 

That's about the full extent of my knowledge. :D

Interesting....it's just been described as a beautiful city on N-O. I suppose it depends on where you come from.........if you're from Byker then Wallsend looks beautiful.
