Im reckoning....

Muse - Cant take my eyes off you

Muse - House of the rising sun

Green Day - I fought the law

what u reckon?

I am reckoning that Green Day isnt even the best cover of I fought the law. That is plainly The Clash.

to which I would add Armagideon Time by Clash and Surfin Bird by The Ramones.

The ramones did some class covers.

I reckon Zeppelin pulled some mint ones aswell , some of the old rock n' roll covers were class, specailly the Eddie Cochran ones.

Guest Patrokles

Peter Laughner's version of Venus is a) a good cover, and  interesting because he covered it about a year or two before the actual song was ever committed to vinyl.

Johnny Cash - most of the American IV album. Bridge over troubled Water, I Hung My Head, In My Life, Hurt, We'll Meet Again, Personal Jesus.....

Oasis' version of My Generation.

Seu Jorge's Portugese Bowie covers for the Life Aquatic.

Nouvelle Vauge - Teenage Kicks.

Was going to say that myself. Rufus Wainwright also does a good version.

Bowling For Soup - Baby One More Time

Motorhead - Enter Sandman

Agree with Johnny Cash version of Hurt.

Also like Nouvelle Vauge doing Love Will Tear Us Apart.

And Paul Anka doing Eye of the Tiger.

Independent Women- Elbow

Hounds of Love- Futureheads

174910[/snapback]

I'd say it's funny but not their best. August and September, Fuzzy and Working Class Hero are all better covers.

I'll throw in Hold It! by Do Me Bad Things, Go Your Own Way by Seaweed and the obvious Suicide is Painless by The Manics.
