Am I right in thinking if we and Rangers win our first games, we will then be in the same group (1) and will play each other.

Isn't there another draw for the group stages? Rangers are bound to be high enough seeds after their CL campaign last year.

Sounds more like it as the media would have been banging on about another potential 'Battle of Britain'.

Assuming all the seeded teams progress, we'll be in pot 1 (2nd seed overall). Rangers in Pot 2 (16th seed overall). Meaning there is a 1 in 8 chance of drawing them. Since Rangers would be bottom of pot 2 it is quite unlikely that 8 teams seeded higher then them would fail to progress meaning that they are highly unlikely to be in the same pot as us.
