I find them pretty weird. I was listening to those of George Galloway and James Whale on Talksport recently. I don't know what is worse, giving such egomaniacs air time to let them randomly abuse people ("I am not talking to you, you are too stupid", "You are an idiot" etc.) or those people who in fact are daft enough to call in.

Aye, the English are the specialists in giving egomaniacs air-time. ;)

It's on Talkshite though. Whale in particular is blatantly on the wind-up. That doesn't make the show any easier to listen to, I grant you.

I'm going to start putting what I mean in white text under my posts, just for you. ;)

I just brought him up so I could mention the thinly-veiled dig at him in Father Ted (Henry Sellars). That was class!

Remember late night ITV, when he used to cut off callers with his red button? What a cunt.

The fact that these programmes don't exist in Germany may explain their apparent lack of cynicism, or Isegrim might just be keeping it all for himself.

Aye, I remember that. He used to do the late night phone-in on Metro Radio up here years ago but I can't remember him from that. That Northern Irish fella (Stephen Nolan?) on Radio 5 isn't much better. Like a watered-down version of Whale tbh.

Whale is such a prick. I wouldn't mind if he actually held the opinions that he comes out with on the show, but it's all just a boring sham and these idiots ring in all wound up just ready for him to make them look stupid and then cut them off when he's bored with them. Now THAT'S entertainment.

Dougal's excitement when hearing Henry Sellars is coming to stay:

"Henry Sellars, Henry Sellars, HENRY SELLARS! HENRY SELLARS! HENRY SELLARS!"

Anyone remember his tv show?

I do remember watching it late at night (not sure why!) and didn't he always have that Tory politician on with the crap hair and beard. Jeremey Hanley or something like that, can't remember the exact name.

I knew a guy who works in radio called Pete Price who is also of the pink persuasion. However, after some research, it's definitely not the same guy.
