Espanyol made a move for Newcastle United striker Albert Luque yesterday, it has been revealed.

AS says Luque was keen to return to Spain and that Espanyol were happy to cover his wage demands. But Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder blocked the deal because he didn't have adequate cover to replace the Spaniard.

Espanyol sports chief Paco Herrera won't drop his interest in Luque and will seek to resurrect a deal for the January transfer window.

Aren't Athletico in for Reyes, can't see them taking both like.

Reyes is going to Real isn't he?

Been linked with both I think, I'm sure there was something from Torres looking forward to playing with Reyes, but the more recent talk is of Real and a swap with Baptista.

Who knows? Not I.
