Can't be right surely

From BBC rumours

The Premier League agreed to push back the transfer deadline by 10 minutes to ensure Ashley Cole's move from Arsenal to Chelsea was completed. (Daily Telegraph)

On the other hand some common sense does appear to be prevailing...

Players who wave imaginary cards to get opponents booked or sent off will be booked, under new Uefa rules. (The Sun)

Fucking hate the way some players do that...

The probably gave Arsenal & Chelsea 10 minutes of ours and told us to stop wasting their fucking time tbqfh

If so it probably stopped another panic by going through, another ten minutes and roeder would have probably bought Pall Mall or Old Kent Rd :nufc:

I think the FA have shown common sense in allowing them an extra 10 minutes, HOWEVER, I reckon if it had been two lesser teams and a less high profile transfer they would have played the jobsworth.

Its blatantly because it was Arse and Chelski and really its not that much common sense. Give them 10 minutes, next time somebody says well you did that we need 15, then the next lot say 20 and sooner or later its a day and eventually you have no window...actually thats a good idea, go with it!

But the point of deadlines is they are a deadline and the second you go over them you have to for everybody and theres no point in having one.

On the issue of players being booked for waving imaginary cards, it sounds great but refs have always been able to book you for that and are either too thick, useless or gutless to do it when it should be soemthing they stamped out years ago.
