I've got a big (female I assume) Araneus Diadematus in my front garden. Thought it may be of some interest to you. There's a smaller one lives next door. That's the next web along, not the next garden.

Unfortunately my nature exploits are limited to cultivating a spider's playground in my bedroom, since leaving the house is something I find too difficult.
