Strange Fruit - Jeff Buckley

Southern trees bear a strange fruit

Blood on the leaves and blood at the root

Black bodies swingin' in the Southern breeze

Strange fruit hangin' from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant South

The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth

Scent of magnolia, sweet and fresh

Then the sudden smell of burning flesh

Here is the fruit for the crows to pluck

For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck

For the sun to rot, for the tree to drop

Here is a strange and bitter crop

Wikipedia - Strange Fruit Worth 5 minutes of anyone's time...

Is that the Sin-e version?

''Be your husband'' is the best, totally acapello.

;)

Haven't heard this one, but you've just made me get Grace out. ;)

Yep T-Keith, it's the Sin-e one. Amazing guitar solo too.

Yeah hallelujah is class too Brock, but I suggest you get hold a copy of the Sin-e session he did. First thing I heard from him. Basically, JB and a telecaster killing it. Gotta say, "Lover you should've come over" live is top draw... ;)

Ordinary boys album. Tis very good. Also decided to dig out Futureheads albums cos I got some tickets to see that at Sheffield Leadmill on Monday.

Still listening to the Rifles album which has been my favourite so far of 2006.

I'll look it up, thanks. I only have the one album by him, which is a shame as he's got a great voice.

Yeh blues on a Telecaster is allways awesome, i put mine through a Fender Pro Juniour and thats the best guitar sound out there for blues, well under a £1500 budget anyway,

Have you got the double disc version?
