Meenzer 3,960
AA advert song Is that the version of "You've Got A Friend" where they chop bits of it to squeeze it into 30 seconds so that each line has a different number of beats and barely resembles the original? And more importantly, is it only me who gets wound up to an entirely irrational extent by that kind of thing?

ewerk 6,257
Mark Ronson - Version How Mark Ronson 'creates' a song in 4 easy steps. 1. Find a decent older tune. 2. Insert a new drum beat. 3. Throw in some brass section. 4. Get a vocalist to sing the old lyrics. And voila you've got yourself a brillant album. Except no you don't Mark, you've got yourself a collection of monotous rehashed shite, stick to playing records at weddings you cock end.

They're fucking shite, on their own a couple of songs might sound decent but the album is just song after song after song of the same technique being applied, no skill involved whatsoever. That's the concept of the album to be fair, funky reworkings...hence the title. You wouldn't listen to Brian Ferry's new album (Dylanesque) and complain that all he's done is rework Dylan songs. Listen to Here Comes The Fuzz and there are no funky reworkings.
ewerk 6,257
I understand the concept of the album but my gripe is that he has "funked up" every song in the exact same way. I might give Here Comes the Fuzz a listen, I liked Ooh Wee.
