First class mood today.
After a protracted 2 month recruitment process I have received and signed my offer from a a global bank which is worth and extra 50K a year. 3 months gardening leave here we come.
Where are you going and have they got any IT jobs going?
HSBC. I think they use external IT.
My colleague has handed his notice in today - off to Lloyds - that takes my department down to 2.
I might start looking seriously now or hold out until November when I'll have 7 years for redundancy purposes - however I'm a bit concerned all the cuts fallout will flood the market with job seekers so it might be best to go now.
Head hunters have been mad busy in my sector for the past few months and from what I can see there is a general drive on from a lot of the banks - even RBS are pushing.
If you dont mind me asking, what do you do fella?
Sell side on the bank markets.
Ah OK, do you have a financial background or sales?

Mate thats a terrible looking car, surely you can do better than that for 10K
Affording the car isn't the problem refusing to pay over a grand to insure it again is, i've only been driving two years with 1 years no claims built up even at 28yrs old a grp 11 1.6lt car is over 1000 quid to insure (northern ireland is a fair bit higher than the rest of the uk still for insurance)
I was looking at the likes of a mazda rx-8 or a celica but they're group15 so it's not going to happen.
Can you just get a golf or something decent? *knows nothing about cars*

Considering they were averaging 20K at home in 84, I seriously doubt they took 7K up to yours but I can't prove you are full of sh!t so what can I do?
I can confirm they did - in fact that was the largest non North East following I've ever seen for a league game.
(I realise this goes aginst my earlier position to an extent but the truth matters).
Along with Brighton in 1979... but there you go you total home counties nobhead. Don't talk about things you haven't got a clue about fuckin Skyboy.
Why would I have a clue how many they took to yours? I get the feeling NJS is just saying it to back you up but in a season when they ended up winning and you came third maybe its less surprising.
one things for sure, they weren't doing it year on year cause they were getting less than 15K at home.

08-Feb-86 Division 1 13,135 H Coventry City
08-Mar-86 Division 1 10,841 H West Bromwich Albion
16-Apr-86 Division 1 9,359 H Birmingham City
03-May-86 Division 1 14,854 H Aston Villa
05-May-86 Division 1 13,036 H Southampton
tbh
A side that contained Gary Mabbutt, Glenn Hoddle, Clive Allen, Chrissy Waddle, Nico Claesen to mention a few. Unbelievable. That's why they're not respected, shit club, shit fans always have been. Gazza even says it in his autobiography.
Im sure he loved your lot chucking mars bars at him when he came back
He did he picked one up and ate it taking a corner iirc, but it doesn't change the fact you have wank fans, worse than Chelsea's by far, and are closer to Arsenal in terms of passionate support than you are to us or other proper clubs.
What??? have you been to the been to the bridge recently?? Unbelievable
The mathew harding / shed ends are alright. the rest is corporate / women / children. All the stuff you claim to hate a football.

You're an idiot Steve. If you did come down to the old bridge you would realise what a non entity they really were.

Not bad in division 2 tbh.
Going up as champions. Averaging 13K the year before. Small club in Fulham
Still, you only averaged 20,000 yourselves in '86....when you finished 10th in the top flight.
So did you in 88 when you finished 8th

what has this to do with Birtley FFS?
Nothing, Stevie has developed it further.
-
Oh and for those who think I am dragging this back to Spurs want to look who started this.
Can't work out if Stevie is properly on the wind up or if he's a post Italia 90, sky fan.
-
oh and our ground will never have spare seats for a Champions League game EVER.
Don't put yourself down man. You might qualify.
Still stings?

This Chelsea love stinks of new fan, post 92 b0ll0x.
In our short lifetime Stevie, stamford bridge looked like this:
fans walking around with buckets "save our club" etc..24 hours from administration.
Then some russian with a shed load of money he needs to launder turns up and they are champions?? Im sorry but everything they have won since has a massive asterisk next to it.
Big club my behind.

If you think about it London is a proper football area. Just supposing there are 1.2m gay people in London. That would leave only 5.8m who aren't gay. 2.9m of them will be women, so that leaves 2.9m potential football fans. 300,000 people watch regular football in London, so that's like 1 in 9 almost, probably a better ratio than us. No one can deny it's a proper football city.
But taking just Newcastle or London population wise as your base you're distorting the figures - given that thousands travel from outside the area you have to count that as a factor - even if you took Berwick to Teesside as NUFC and the other clubs area, its tiny compared to adding the home counties to London.
12m is the South East pop. 2.5m the North East. London has 2 big clubs, 4 medium sized clubs, and 7 smaller clubs. The North East has 1 big club, 1 medium sized club and 3 small clubs. I still think they do ok.
Be interesting to see who you think London's 2 big clubs are.
Is it not obvious who they are you idiot?
Arsenal and ?????

Slow day at Comet fella? Surely there's some stock taking you could be doing

What in the name of god is that.

They were talking about it on Question Time last night. Saying how it's indicitive of broken Britain and all that bollocks.
As if cockneys had no time for Ronnie and Reggie 40 years back.
They lined the streets for their funerals too
Lined the streets??? There was more people turned out for them than Princess Di. I seem to remember there was 200,000 on the Mile End fly over alone. "Gawd rest is soww".
One of them was a wooly woofta as well. Shows what a cosmopolitan place the East End is tbh.
15% of London is homosexual though. 1,050,000 by my calculations.
The 'bigger' club.
