07:38 BST: Joseph Yobo could make a loan switch to West Ham from Everton. Although why he would want to jump onto a sinking ship is beyond us.
-
I predict a left back on loan (most likely that Man City lad) and possibly a striker one way or another.Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton admits he's seeking a new left-back.
Hughton hopes to add to his squad in the final days of the market.
He said: "There are still a couple of days to go, but if I was left with the squad I’ve got now, I would be happy. We’re most definitely still looking at left-back, but James Perch can play at left-back as well.
“It’s perhaps not naturally left-footed cover, but we certainly have cover there."
Looks likely to be a left back then.
Although at least we've got James Perch as cover for there too... he's a cracking player at right back

Has anyone heard any more news or has it all gone quiet?
Been searching and the best I can get is another RVW un-sourced rumour
-
Is this guy a rumour or is there more to it.
He scored a couple of goals against Celtic in the last week. that's about it.
2 penalty's and a fairly good finish for the third

When does the window close? at midnight after 1. august or the 31st?
Tuesday at 6pm I think

Wolfswinkel is actually German for dog's cock.
hopefully dogs bollocks

I am dissapointed by this lack of ambition by Ashley I say Ashley and Lambs arse. If Shepherd was still in charge we would have just bought him straight off and put him on a decent wage.
Is this a wind up?
What do you think??

There anything at all in this Van Wolfswinkel rumour?
Is this a made up name?
"Newcastle Unite are believed to be closing in on young Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
The 21-year old forward, who netted a hat-trick to knock Celtic out of the Europa League midweek, is being monitored by the Magpies with the northern club ready to make an offer for his services.
Mirror Football suggests the Toon will throw in a bid of around £8million for the Dutch international as they try to beat off competition from the likes of Liverpool to bring him in prior to the transfer window closing."

1. Who?
2. Since when have we had a spare £8?
3. Reminds me of a Xisco

Shola Ameobi admits he's held clear-the-air talks with Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton.
Ameobi has been linked with Blackpool and Hull City this past week.
He told the Evening Chronicle: “I’ve made my view known to the manager – he knows I want to play, like every other member of the squad.
“Last season was a bit disappointing with the injuries I had. I was raring to go this season.
“Obviously, Andy’s flying high, and he’s preferring Nobby (Nolan) up there, which is the manager’s decision.
“I’ve made my points known to him. I just hope I can get my chance, and when it comes, I can take it.

He won't be signing.
Im starting to like it when you outrightly dismiss our chances of landing a player. Two in a row now isnt it? Keep it up fella
We won't sign Robbie Keane on loan.
This WILL be our last signing of the summer.
do you understand the maxim 'stfu'?
Do you understand the term 'woosh'?

GET IN CARROLL
-
Any idea what the fee will be if we bought him?
I read it was £6m somewhere- not sure how true that is though because they were after about 12m euros to sign him properly.
Does anyone know if we had to keep the clause in that we automatically sign him if he plays more than 25 games?
-
Shows a bit of ambition from the club- 2 international players in a few days
Now a pacey striker and a versatile defender would be a good end to the window
-
Signed. The 23-year-old joins on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent transfer and will wear squad number 37 at St. James' Park.
Official.
Source?

Stoke had him on loan, so have had a good look at him. No fucking way will they sign him.
Any idea what sort of wedge he's on?
FM's got him down as 26k a week...
-
Its a nailed on certainty that this is not going to happen.
Unfortunately so...
No harm in hoping

Shola Ameobi is considering his future at Newcastle United.
The Daily Star says Ameobi will hold talks with boss Chris Hughton over his situation.
Stoke City and Blackpool are both monitoring his situation.

Deal sorted.
Definitely? Or has his work permit just been accepted?

I think were better than West Brom, Wigan and Blackpool.
If we get some good results at home aswel then we could get above West Ham and Wolves too... especially if we still manage to add one or two players.
15-17.
As the door slams shut....CALM DOWN!

Although him being a donkey and largely shit at football...
I'd take him if it were a small fee (under 1m) and we took him on a 1 year contract with wages of under £10,000 p/w (or year long loan)
He could provide good cover for Carroll and at least he can (just about) cut it in the prem...
At the end of the day- he's better than Shola and Best
