  1. After a first half of complete dominence I was shocked we folded in 17 second half minutes yesterday, Bit of a freak result, despite our second half, Fulham didn't merit a 3 goal winning margin.

A positive for me though is that the first half, we proved that we can play football with the ommisions of Ba and Tiote!

  2. Nah, no respect from me like. As has been said, our start to this season has been despite Mike Ashley and not because of him. If people are happy with this now then they're in for a treat for the rest of his tenure here! it's just going to be season after season of not pushing the boat out and being content with mid table mediocrity.

Whilst I'm not saying we should go out and spend £30m on a player but I'd like to see us show some sort of ambition, at the moment I don't think we have any!

  3. First to admit I'm not his biggest fan but yes he's done well with the club in difficult circumstances. When he came in I was genuinely worried that he would undo all of Hughtons good work and we could slip dangerously down the table.

I agree with the 100% bollocks too, he is full of shit at times but again whether that's him deliberately lying to the fans or being mislead by the board it's hard to tell. The board hardly have any shred of Decency when it comes to the fans, so maybe it's the board to blame with the lack of spending/strikers! I was quite surprised that he came out and had that little dig at the board when no striker was signed but he'll be walking on thin ice if he continues with that.

Who could we realistically get instead of Pardew anyway? Not many (if any) proven premiership managers would take the Newcastle job as it currently is!

The Northern Echo Arena is set to be the venue of a re-match to celebrate the Premier League's 'greatest ever match'.

Liverpool's famous 4-3 defeat of Newcastle United at Anfield during the 1995-96 season was recently labelled as the Premier League game of all-time by Sky Sports.

Now Kevin Keegan's team, dubbed 'The Entertainers', are bidding to put the record straight with a re-match against the Reds, to be staged at the Northern Echo Arena on Sunday October 9 (1.30pm kick-off).

Pavel Srnicek, John Beresford and Robert Lee have already signed up the charity game, while Ian Rush, Jason McAteer and Mark Wright have agreed to turn out for the Liverpool side.

Kevin Keegan, who is expected to manage the United side, said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing all the lads again and helping to raise a lot of money for the five charities.

"It's win-win all round. Let's see if the entertainers have got it within themselves to entertain a bit."

Tickets for the game are priced £10 adults and £5 children, and are available to buy from www.ticketmaster.co.uk from 9am on Thursday (July 21).

Charities set to benefit from the event include NSPCC, CHUF, Alan Shearer Centre, Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and NE Children's Charity Pathways.

More details about the game itself and surrounding events can be found at www.theentertainersreunited.co.uk

  5. Complete embarrassment, and nothing short. We have fans moaning on when mackems run on the pitch v us yet when we have a much bigger pitch invasion, with some fans swinging off goal posts then it's just "harmless banter"

    Heard it all now.

  6. Problem with importing is that they're then stored locally. Any changes won't show up. Best to subscibe to some sort of feed.

Google has plenty of sports calendars to subscribe to. They would be the best for up to date changes in fixutres and times but annoyingly displays games as "Arsenal @ Newcastle" and even more annoyingly they don't sync to phones! Hopefully they're working on that.

    I used this site last season: http://www.markthisdate.com/ ( http://www.markthisdate.com/calendar/Newca...2012_12601.html )

And they were pretty quick to update fixture changes at the back end of the season.

Does it automatically update when fixtures are changed for TV etc?

  7. I would agree that we have an element of fan base that think we are far superior..but I would also say that you have an element that are far too interested in what we're up to. What I'm trying to say is, we both have a minority of loud knackers.

It's not that people are far to interested in you, it's that they fiercley hate Newcastle so they love to see them fail.

It's partly because of the deluded element in your support that dismiss Sunderland as a 'lesser' club, and partly beacause Sunderland as a city has been given little investment and has been left to rot in the past whilst Newcastle has flourised.

My nana could not give a shit about football, but she won't spend a penny in Newcastle. She is not 'obsessed'. She is just like the majority of people from Sunderland.... She hates Newcastle

Don't confuse hate with being obsessed. The hate is what makes the derby so big.

    FTM

Ya nana sounds like a fuckin mug.

Aye, was just gonna say the same. Its quite embarrassing that you would actually post that on a Newcastle message board n all!

  8. They played 26 songs! and 2 hours 45 minutes, best value for money gig ever considering Biffy Clyro supported who I'm not too fussed on either but they were good

Excellent venue too, will defo go back if there is someone decent on

    NationalBowl_small_comp.jpg

Aye foos were brilliant! did you go the Saturday or Sunday? we went Sunday, Jimmy Eat World and Biffy both good.

The venue was superb! definitely be going back also!

  9. Just guessing but maybe they've 'mothballed' parts of the stadium in order to save money.

Most likely, I don't think the Blue Square Premier ever attracted a crowd of 25k.

Makes you wonder why they built such a large ground when it's plain for all to see that they could fill it if they were in The Championship.

That's a question only George Reynolds can answer. The man was a mentalist, fuck knows why he built the thing.

It's become a millstone around the clubs neck and the cost of running place forced them into administration once already, hence why they only open parts of the ground nowadays.

If you're after some proper ale and some decent pubs head into town and try and find Quaker House, Number 22's and the weatherspoons (tanners hall) has real ale on too. I also like tap and spile but it's not everybody's cup of tea.

You've just listed my 4 favorite drinking holes! I'd defiantly recommend The Quakerhouse, great little pub. Not so keen on 22s mind, the clientele can be a bit middle class for my tastes and it was about £3 a pint last time I was in there.

See you in Quaker House next friday then

  10. Bought my tickets for this yesterday, It's all been answered on the first page, you can drink in the ground, bogs in the ground etc.

There's a pub near the ground called copper beach where traditionally away fans go but I dunno if they're going to accommodate 6,000 geordies!

Friday nights are indie/altern night at inside out and seen. So decent music at least.

Oh and the stadium may hold 25k but the council have put a 10k limit on attendances at the arena

That Hogan's is where we always stop coming back from Boro, only a mile away.

Right near the station £1 a bottle and £1.50 a pint, I can see why haha! It's only a 5 minute walk from my place too

Can blame Reynolds for that, every Darlo fan I know wishes the club stayed at feethams and made some improvements rather than moving to where they are now!

  12. as far as i can understand they wont let them have attendances over 10k because of traffic congestion before and after the game. The Council want Darlington to pay for new roads leading to and from the stadium.

The same council who approved a 25k stadium now say the club can't get more than 10k in! I bet they'd budge if Darlo ever got a home game v Man United in the cup though!

  14. Who gives a fuck if Pardew interviews well? Honestly CT you talk fucking twaddle. How this statement that we're spending the £35m on the training ground can be seen as anything but Ashley being a cunt, is a mystery to me.

£4.8m we've spent on Cabaye, Ba, Marveux and Abeid were all either free or fuck all. We've already got £3m from Nolan. How fucking dare Ashley say he's spending that on wages and the fucking training ground. That amount of investment should see us training in the best facility in the world!

Why do you believe whatever Pardew states? It's obvious he's going to have an agenda!

Why do I fucking read and react to your fucking idiocy.

    :(

    +1

  15. This is doing my head in, it must be about 15 years ago or so we played over in Asia as part of our pre season and we beat a national side I think, Might have been Malaysia or Hong Kong? can anyone remember this!

I distinctly remember one of our players possibly Peter Beardsley falling over whilst taking a corner kick and immediately pretending he fell to the ground on purpose to do push ups!?

can anyone put me out of my misery!?
