Happy Face

Watching it now.

20 minutes in and I'm gagging on the contrivance.

The whole Iraq airfield with a helicopter overhead was distinctly safe, despite the dangerous music.

tinofbeans

absolute shite. some of the mopst contrived bollocks on tv.

story goes, get 3 cars have them all part break down, then tart them up and repair them. do something patronising ( repeat 90+ times) and thats it.

ewerk

So I see they've decided to do away with any attempt humour or chemistry. Not that I liked the last lot but this was just dull.

Why was he trying to sound like Clarkson in the intro voice over? just awful. I lasted until he started introducing some randoms from his local takeaway. Just typical ME! ME! ME! bullshit from that ginger prick.

Howay

Wasn't great , but then neither was the old one in recent times, I got sick of the massively scripted challenge stuff seasons ago, it just isn't entertaining, I'd rather just watch reviews on cars.

Bad first episode though, shouldn't have tried to copy the dialog and such of the previous presenters, no need

(fwiw I don't think the Amazon effort from Clarkson and Co will be much good either)

Agree with this tbh, it was clunky and they seemed awkward together (I know it's the first episode but still they even seemed fairly awkward just on their own). They should have really stepped out and done it a different way but they seemed to try and mimic some parts while making others different and it was just fairly clunky.

How uncomfortable was the star in the car bit? Especially when they introduced each other  .
