And we're off again
We need JFK to talk us through it
-
I would say though that on balance I don't think this is purely a ruse to deflect the flak he'd get for not getting Shearer on board. I think he does want to sell, as he must know that no-one is going to touch a season ticket renewal till this is all sorted out. That would definitely not be in his interests if he was intending to stay.
I'm struck by it being strange that he semingly talked to Shearer in "good faith" and then what- wakes up yesterday and says ah fuck it I can't be arsed anymore.
He has demonstrated himself to be an impulsive arsehole but I think this tops the lot.
I suspect he can't/won't give Shearer the assurances he seeks and his arse has dropped out

Being realistic mate. Last Sunday was nothing in comparison to this gem.
It was a bolt from the blue mind
-
One things for sure, by admitting he's desperate to sell he's put himself into a ridiculously weak position
-
Anyone who thinks this will be some swift takeover that will be resolved within a month is frankly kidding themselves. When Ashley himself bought the club it took the best part of 2 months to get everything sorted and that was us as a viable prospect and with him, we had someone genuinely interested in buying the club.
This will drag out all summer and there's a good chance we won't be sold at all. All the while, I bet the fact fuck-head doesn't put another penny into the club meaning that we'll have no players coming in, we'll lose those out of contract and Shearer will be back on the telly.
DK may not be a million miles away from the truth with talk of points deduction either. We're really in the smelly stuff now
The club is no longer a PLC so can be bought and sold very quickly if both parties so choose
And you seriously think that's going to happen?
Nope, just making a sensible suggestion as opposed to instantly squealing about the situation like some

If being the important word of course.. I still think he was sent up North by Spurs board to deal a death blow to us.
Possibly but this time there would be no delays due to persuading people to sell their shares and a 'strategic review'
-
As long as Fred isn't 100% in charge

The more i think about this the more suspicious it seems - why announce this at all - surely a deal could have been done on the qt behind closed doors - talks could have taken place then a quick announcement and see you later mike - this smacks of the garden path that we have been led down before. Its a fuckin doddle to do - put some rumours out about consortiums sniffing around and it'll spread like wildfire - make an announcement then fuck off to barbados for the summer whilst accepting bids for all playing staff - then come back, quick soundbite about no buyers and big joe has to be brought back to manage the team and there you go
He does have form.
True, but surely not even he could try it again
-
any one of the top 5 please
It's not what you've got it's what you do with it that counts
-
Not that I want Shepherd back, far from it, but he'd definitely want Shearer.
I'd have no problem having him back as long as he was accountable to someone
-
David Crag has been on SSN saying one of the consortiums interested doesnt want Shearer in charge. Sounds like atm FS is heading one consortium and is battling it out against someone else. Wonder if FS wants Shearer or if its the other consortium?
If they don't want Shearer that's fine as long as they don't appoint an utter idiot
Lets hope we don't end up with an owner dumb enough to appoint someone like Souness.....
Fingers crossed.
-
Looks like Leazes was right all along, I suspect the kids board is still in denial though
It's beginning to hit home. Accounts being deleted and all that.
There'll always be one or two still putting deckchairs out on the titanic

Who knows who we might get but I'd rather take my chances on new owners. If he can sell up quickly, I'd be happy. The worst thing of all would be for this to drag on.
That's all I'm arsed about - how long it takes. Him fucking off is clearly a good thing, just depends how long it takes to sort it.
Seconded. If it fucks up next season so be it. I'll be happy to wait for someone who knows what they're doing
-
Great news, now fuck off
-
I'm a gloryhunter

Sunshine fanny weather, tit monday approaches

-
The sooner these cunts sell up and fuck off the better
-
The SSN people said after the break we'll have more on Alan Shearer's situation at Newcarsel, difference between that and wank glasses coming out and making a statement. Sky man they say anything to get cunts watching.
Aye, they do have previous
-
Can't be bad news or he'd be in hiding
-
I imagine it's either:
"talks are on-going blah blah blah"
or
"sorry lads, we just can't meet his demands"
"because he wanted to sign Lampard, Beckham and Henry"
