  1. I suspect this is something a bit more complicated. Is this part of the long-term injuries KCG?
  2. Shoulder surgery is notoriously hit and miss when it comes to recovering full movement and becoming totally pain-free, but it depends what you're living with at the moment. Have you been referred to an ortho surgeon yet or is this advice from your GP? I'd be inclined to take the advice of a specialist in the area if it was me.
  3. He's bang on like. We have staff (one in particular) who regularly phones in sick on a Friday. So much so that when the bleep goes off at 7am to say there's a call, we all say "Migrane Friday!" In unison. Management appear to being doing nothing about the blatant manner of it and yet when I had 3 nights off when I pulled my back, I was taken into the office and warned that 3 periods of absence in 12 months would lead me to being referred to HR and Occ health. Bring it on
  4. http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jan/17/nurses-nhs-stress-leave-staff-breaking-point Okay, let's get all political. This,
  5. Ant recommended Big Hero 6 to me for the bairn. I only remembered to tell him this morning to be met with "Yeah, yeah. I know about it. It's about this big robot who gets turned into a superhero. My dad is taking me to see it" Okay then
  6. Good god, that's horrific
  7. Arty and a little bit abstract is very much the plan. What did you get ewerk?
  8. Been thinking about a tattoo for the last few years (tasteful, obvs) but reeeeally tempted at the moment. Might be the approaching mid-life crisis that's doing it. Recommendations for decent places city centre/Gateshead/Washy/South of the river so I can have a bit look at them?

    Gigs 2025

2 1/2hrs of old skool rock with every song a classic. No interval, no gimmicks, superb lighting and Lambert didn't try to be Freddie. He's got bags of charisma and is camper than Meenzer at the Eurovision final but his voice is insanely good and he was perfect. And Bryan May did a little acoustic version of Fog on the Tyne in the middle. Waited 25yrs to see them and had a class night

    Gigs 2025

Thought I might as well start this as I'm off to see Queen tonight. Uncool? Probably. Bothered? Not a fucking bit of it - can't wait
  11. Tell me, or piss off with your wummery I've told all the crisp-sellers in the north-east to order extra supplies for around February time
  12. Yeah, I think he's about the right age to go now (he'll be 6) It would have been wasted on him before about now I think. I'm stupidly excited about telling him. I know when I'm going to do it but not how. If anyone has any ideas for that too then please feel free to chip in!
  13. Plans are coming together... Busch Gardens Islands of Adventure/Harry Potter Universal Long weekend at Wyndham Blossom Creek (inc fireworks at Magic Kingdom) VIP's at a Tampa Bay Rays game Caspersen Beach Ride on a Fire Truck (if Rob's boss agrees to let him borrow one from work) Easter Sunday egg hunt Beaches BBQ's Wine (for the mams while the boys and dad do boy stuff) In return, I have to take Tetley teabags. Cadburys chocolate and proper crisps.
  14. The 'diverting the ambulances to another hospital' thing? Yeah, thanks for that You lot and one other place did that on the same night a couple of weeks ago which meant we were the only place south of the river open - so we got 3 times the traffic. Everything else you described above is an exact scene from our place most nights at the moment, with not enough staff to cope, which is why I get moved from my department to work there if we're not actively operating.
  15. Total crisis management every shift. So close to putting my registration at risk because more senior people to me give unrealistic, unfair and guilt-laden orders out with the words "I'm sure it'll be fine" Well that's lovely, but I'm just not doing it.
  16. The NHS is broken and so am I. Got to work at 7.15 last night and I've just had my first wee of the shift. You're welcome..

    Terrorism

    Chez, that's terrifying. Stay safe.
  18. I'm bloody amazed! Did you try upping it to 200mg to see how that went?
  19. Could you not take the 100mg during the day and save the 300mg for bed time?
  20. Are you still hammering the Tramadol? If so it's no wonder you're off your head
  21. Lush sunrise this morning mind.
