  1. Can't disagree with anything you've said. As I've said previously I don't want him to be guilty but that's probably more to do with the fact that I can't bear to imagine the fear of any woman who loves someone being threatened by them in that way - it's just unbearable. I've no emotional attachment to him as a person and freely admit that the chance that he murdered her in cold blood is plausible. But what if he didn't? He'll apparently be taking the stand himself once the prosecution case has wrapped and I've got a feeling that his own evidence will make or break it.
  2. You're missing out the bits where the witness gives evidence that completely contradicts her original sworn affidavid and has to admit she's changed her version of events. It's a complete shambles this morning.
  3. Pretty much the same here. Haven't seen the bairn since Wednesday morning and have had to deal with the worst stuff imaginable as a parent at work this week. Just wanted him home so I could give him a cuddle - which I've now done. He's more interested in the penalty shoot-out game on my iPad though...

    Suits

'Black tie' doesn't automatically mean black suit these days though, it just means formal (unless you're going to the palace or something) If the do is at the Hilton I'd think you'd more than get away with a blue suit as long as you wear a tie etc.
  5. Firstly, her name is Thokozile Masipa and the judgement is taken by 3 people - she is the appointed judge and has 2 assistants that assess the evidence with her.
  6. You absolutely know that it's still knackered!
  7. You've gone to footy training, haven't you?
  8. Did you have the radio ablation for pain relief KCG?
  9. If the surgery takes much longer than anticipated then it can start to wear off in which case we have to put them off to sleep with a general anaesthetic. There's never a case of "one minute it was working and the next I can feel everything" It's a gradual regaining of nerve sensation so we've always got time to do a GA.
  10. Spinal anaesthetic is a marvellous thing. Injection of local anaesthetic into the spinal fluid makes everything from that level down totally numb for 4hrs. We do hip/knee replacments/foot surgery/caesarians and lower limb amputations with the patient awake but unable to feel anything. We give sedation if they don't want to remember sawing or hammering, but some of them don't want it. We don't make them watch the surgery or anything
  11. Some people do cos they're awake when we do it
  12. 2 laparoscopies for girl stuff with another one on the cards. Can't beat the opening post but I get to watch surgery every day of my working life. Nowt like seeing bowels all over the table or a leg amputated before you have your dinner

Cherry choc-chip flapjacks have just come out of the oven if anyone wants one....?
  17. I have the urge to open more of the LEGO the bairn got for his birthday and make some stuff. He's at school but I'm sure he wouldn't mind
  18. For any space geeks there's a documentary on C4 tonight at 9pm about life on the ISS. Really looking forward to it.
  19. And you continue to be a complete arsehole.
  20. I really don't want him to be guilty and I don't know why - just an absolute gut feeling. The evidence from the post-mortem today was censured from being televised as it was so horrific and Pistorius was vomiting in court on hearing it. It's just so horrible
  21. Ouseburn might be the place. You can still do the sights along the river and it's far less pretentious and tedious than the hen/stag do route. http://www.barcrawl.co.uk/pubcrawl.aspx?Crawl=1856
