  1. that's exactly why so many say "we got away with it". But the fine was essentially for not co-operating in a timely manner. It was €10m for breaching Article 56 which concerns co-operation and has nothing to do with financial misdemeanours We felt we were being persecuted unfairly, especially as we didn't contest the earlier fine and squad restriction as infantino supposedly led us to believe a line had been drawn under it. Even if we are cleared of these charges people will still say we're cheats because mud sticks.
  2. maybe total acquittal was a tad over zealous ( it was posted by a city fan after all ) but the only thing we were found guilty of was dragging our feet. I wouldn't expect it to be unanimous given that uefa appointed one of the judges. whilst I do expect these charges to be more difficult to combat than the eufa ones, i still think we will be cleared. But what fan ever truly knows. ps you'll have to excuse me for letting others some that document up for me, its huge.
  3. After the CAS judgement I remember someone saying it was akin to being cleared of a murder charge but being fined for resisting arrest. This feels similar with a large number of charges making it look more materially serious but actually none of them being individually that bad. The non-compliance charge is the one that counts. That is the stick to beat us with. You still hear people saying ‘non-compliance means you have something to hide’ even after the CAS said clearly that no inference should be drawn from it. Even after a total acquittal by CAS that is still used as a sign of guilt. It worked once, why not try it again? I believe that Arsenal are at the centre of this. The original request to investigate by a number of premier league clubs including you guys was supposedly submitted on Arsenal headed paper !! I believe that this investigation has a high ranking arsenal fan involved too. White american owners don't like middle east arab money. As i remember it, they were changing the ffp rules as they went along at the beginning. ( ... taken from our forum )
  4. chance would be a fine thing. closest i've ever got to that is a mate who borrowed some black season tickets for arsenal. it was in the new stadium and was very cosy. that was a one off though. i could probably blag you some tickets for the underground at a good price.
  5. We blues see this too. We're so used to playing with a false 9 and now that we have a half decent one we don't know how to play with one. I think we're in for a major makeover in the summer. An actual left back would be a nice start.
  6. I work from home but have a rare face to face meeting with our MD and 2 other guys this week. Annoyingly 2 of them are spurs fans and the other is a gooner. nightmare timing.
  7. I didn't wear my lucky pants so fair enough
  8. Have to admit I've done the maths for us and 5th place too. no-one has a right to win.
  9. I love Pep too. He's entertaining and different. At least he was different until the Pep clones.
  10. Kev has been out of form, lots of stray passes even if he still has the killer pass in his locker.
  11. has me nervous too. but we did something similar against them a few weeks back. and went 2 down before the worryingly habitual comeback. we haven't scored at their new stadium yet so theres that. injuries, especially to john stones and the out of form phil foden don't help. just look at the bench for confirmation of the injury front. thats the problem with a small squad. no cancelo doesnt help, but what can you do when a player squares up to the manager? right nearly time to go hide behind the sofa like an old dr who episode. positives might be alvarez work rate and a cameo from Max Peroni
  12. Agree about Gallagher. There are rumours that we're in for Maddison now too. New rumours at that. Maybe its a sign that our pursuit of Bellingham is failing. But i don't know or care. I just love not having to hold my breath until we get 40 points every year.
  13. thought i'd share this from one of our bluemoon threads. no ulterior motive, its just interesting. quite proud of our net spend but i'd rather we spent money like chelsea. our net spend is so good thanks to our player sales. premier-league-last-5-seasons-transfer
  14. Love trips to Wembley. As a blue we normally get the side where the Green Man pub is. A few tinnys on the green patch of ground nearby, near a couple of offies. then if we have any tinnies left hide them in someones garden whilst we sneak in the back of the green man (unless we're early enough to make the main door). All easy for me as i live in south london.
  15. you learn not to care about dress sense
  16. ah Joey Barton, left Man City in search of silverware. Then got sent off for QPR to help City to the title
  17. sounds like he'd be just as good in nets as he would anywhere else.
  18. Like Samson, their power lies in their hair. Just no-one cut it.
  19. We feel the same about beating any team over 2 legs. Just a shame about Real Madrid last year. I stand by my assertion that every last one of you Newcastle fans would be better than Sergio Gomez. Mike Ashley included.
  20. It seems Gundogan is underrated by many but he was Peps first buy and can be trusted to play at a consistently high level. He was key to us turning 0-2 into 3-2 against Villa last day of last season. Problem is Rodri needs rest so Phillips needs to play. It takes time for some players to get up to speed in Peps system. It took players like Sane and Cancelo a year. Phillips was injured pre world cup so expect it will take him time to get up to speed. You can't carry defensive passengers against a pressing team and our main problem was Sergio Gomez being, well, wank. Walker as CB only compounded things. Peps fault on the night imo, but he gets so much right that he's earned the odd off night, plus he's playing a bigger picture in keeping squad fresh. All in all, i absolutely love this era of Man City. Just as you lot will love yours. oh one last thing. i believe that he rested Rico Lewis for the Manchester derby. He's 18 and more important to us than Walker !!! mad.
  21. Congrats guys £66 for Haaland, Alvarez and Foden. We all do good and bad business. We were poor last night. We lacked spark until we strengthened by which time it was too late, they had something to fight for. It starts at the back for us and Cancelo seems out of sorts, whilst Walker doesn't work as a CB for me. But the real problem is that one of our players can't pass, can't tackle, can't control a ball and can't take throw ins, which is a shame as he's a boyhood city fan (yes there are photos) and that's Sergio Gomez. I wish he was good but i'd rather any of you lot played than him. Anyway congrats to you all. I'd say you're outright favourites now. For me, of the teams left it's anyone but Man United (i keep forgetting to add Man and have to come back and add it). My favourite side of Wembley is the side that gets the Green Man pub, fingers crossed.
  22. Wish i had a link but i thought that there was some ffp relief for new owners for a while. The context was how come Chelsea can spend so much. not something that hit us that hard as we spent heavily before ffp came into effect.
  23. It will be difficult for us (Man City) to get maximum points in the next month or so when you factor in other games (A) Southampton - League Cup (A) Man Utd (H) Spurs (H) Wolves (H) Arsenal - FA Cup (A) Spurs (H) Villa (A) Arsenal - they're so far ahead you probably need us to win these to keep your dream alive As an aside i'm sure the cup draws are rigged. First 2 League cup opponents, Chelsea then Liverpool First 2 FA cup opponents, Chelsea then Arsenal
  24. i think so. supposedly his dad prefers liverpool though. but regardless i guess bellingham will decide for himself
  25. We're mostly linked with Bellingham and Maximo Perrone. Not gonna claim to know anything about Perrone ( although i do love his name ) but it sounds like its imminent. Bellingham is linked to a few, but some of our itk's are claiming it will happen and that Liverpool and Madrid comments are sounding like they're positioning themselves not to get him. Not sure our club have said anything though. Not sure what you guys need but your squad seems decent based on results so its probably safe to say that any new players need to be upgrades (to push you on to the next level)
