Newcastle's main target, right winger Mbeumo, might seem the most likely candidate to reach the much-needed goalscoring tally this team needs to succeed in the Champions League. However, Harvey Barnes has scored more goals than Anthony Gordon this season and has increased his market value. Over the previous two seasons, he has progressively improved, especially this one. He is more likely to score with his left foot and has a more accurate shot, giving him a better chance of winning when he is in the team. While Anthony Gordon is sharper and faster, the goals come mainly because he cuts in with his preferred foot, so he has been successful with his greater range in facing goal. So why can't he play on the right wing and assist the center forward more often, bringing his sharpness and pace, I would argue with his preferred foot, to pass the ball more directly to Isak, thus ceding the left wing position to Harvey Barnes? He has scored one goal in every four games, which is quite impressive for a left winger.
In any case, the PSR and the lack of signings have undoubtedly been taken into account. However, I've seen the first team grow over those three seasons, which indicates that the players are improving.
In my opinion, goalkeepers are on the wane, so there's something to that, and they could sign a right centre half valued in around at £50 million bracket but why if Sven Botman can stay fit all season? It reminds me of another Johnathon Woodgate's story, come so near yet so far. I've discovered that Newcastle United aren't very successful with defenders of Anglo-Saxon origin. The most formidable opponent was Albeit. Bring in the Belgian defender. Zeno Koen Debast, for example, has a market value of 30 million pounds and a release clause of 80 million pounds. Jumping up from £20 million last season alone. Debast's style of play has drawn comparisons to Vincent Kompany, another product of Anderlecht's football school. But because the players a good lad he’ll be better suited with the likes of Isak. Like the frame of mind Shearer steers.
The midfield is perfectly fine okay, and Joelinton is worth much more than £35 million and the same as Barnes.
As well as another centre forward who is also valued in that position is somebody better than Callum Wilson?
I'd like to see Mbeumo come this season, but it's not the end of the world judging by the statistics. And Manchester United, in fact, are slow in the transfer market; just look at how they're handling Fernandez.
