1. One plus point, Gary Neville is out of the match on Sunday, and will miss England's next couple of matches through injury.
2. And surprise surprise, Taylor gets another stupid booking.
3. Diouf header deflected wide. Chelsea 2-0 WBA (Lampard, J.Cole)
4. Jaidi's just been replaced by Faye (not sure if he's related to Amdy but he's a Senegalese International too).
5. We'll have to settle with a 4 goal win then.
6. Forever the optimist, but we could leap-frog Arsenal by the end of the night.
7. Fulham one-up at Highbury after Lauren missed a penalty. Claus Jensen the scorer.
8. Well perhaps if "FFS" didn't talk crap, if "GS" wasn't crap, and if "AS" could run a bit, there'd be no more "whinging fans". Problem solved.
9. Carrick is a Newcastle fan, who I'm sure if he left Spurs would love to come here. If we only offered say £4m saying "it's his dream move", but Everton offered £7m, would Spurs simply accept our lower offer to keep him happy?
10. He is a quality striker. Would be chuffed if we signed him. One injury-hit season and people have written him off.
11. The thing that gets me is, I bet you call Man U fans bitter for their hatred towards Shearer after he turned Man U down for us because of his desire to play for the club he loved.
12. Does anyone think this is all the club's money? Or maybe Northern Rock or Adidas (would be good for them to keep Owen in an Adidas shirt after Madrid perhaps) are helping us out?
13. Don't agree. Our squad would still be weak, our first team would be OK. 17202 Given, Harper Carr, Ramage LB, Babayaro Boumsong, Bramble Taylor, Moore Jenas, Milner Luque, N'Zogbia Parker, Faye Emre, Bowyer Shearer, Ameobi Owen, Dyer. I'd say 3/4s of the Premier League would take that squad. 17210 You've actually managed to list Dyer as a striker there. But yeah, it looks considerably better, but still huge areas of weakness and completely inadequate cover. 17228 Not denying that, but it's far superior to anything outside the "big 4" and maybe Spurs at a push.
14. That, and being told they have to keep all their messages in the one, monster thread which is nigh on impossible to read.
15. Don't agree. 16. My gut feeling is, he'll be at Newcastle or Real Madrid come next Friday. Liverpool don't have £18m full stop, nevermind £18m for a centre-back, right-winger & centre-forward. It's all very well him saying he wants to go back to Liverpool, but if Real Madrid don't accept it, it's tough basically, and they're hardly going to accept a Loan deal or whatever when they can make a 100% profit on him from us.
17. One little question. IF this comes off (and it's still a bloody big if mind), would people's opinions of Shepherd & Souness change?
18. And why the hell would Real Madrid accept a Loan deal when they can have £18m there and then?! As Phil Thompson said, he may come here and enjoy it so much that he wants to stay.
19. The thing is that if he had been our first target and we had made a bid for him a couple of weeks ago we probably wouldn't have got him. There were other clubs interested and I think he only turned his sight on playing for Newcastle because the transfer window is closing and the likes of Real Madrid chose other targets. Anyway knowing the Deportivo chairman I don't think we have heard the last word in this case. 16360 I agree Isegrim. It's an almost identical situation to the Pandiani to Birmingham transfer. One day, Bruce is on SSN saying he'll be a Brum player within the next 48 hours, a couple of days later, Karren Brady was saying they wouldn't meet Depor's "valuation" of the player...a few days later he signed for Birmingham for the original fee they offered. I think this might just be a case that their chairman/President is an even bigger tit than Freddie.
20. Exactly Leazes. Replace Milner, Shearer & N'Zogbia with Bellamy, Kluivert & Robert in that game on Saturday, and we'd have won easily.
21. And here are those stats. Newcastle's results when two of Bellamy, Robert & Kluivert played P 29, W 17, D 6, L 6. Newcastle's results with one or none of Bellamy, Robert & Kluivert P 28, W 8, D 10, L 10. Baring in mind two of those 8 wins came against Coventry & Southampton, the Heerenveen away one coincided with Robert coming on, and in 3 of the other 5 wins either Robert or Kluivert scored, then it doesn't justify their sales IMO.
22. I'd love to know the stats for our record when two of those three were in the side compared to when they weren't...give me 30 mins on www.nufc.com and I'll come back with the answer.
23. Good week there, with Given, Boumsong, Terry, A. Ferdinand, Lampard & Defoe scoring good points for me.
