I really don't hold out much hope... 98 > 2000 > XP > Vista (so I assume) > 7

I think Enrique is arguably the defender who we should invest the most in because, if he can get his wayward passing under control, he'd be great. Unlike Taylor and his complete lack of quality Enrique does look potentially a decent player so I hope we don't let him go in favour of JAR. I wish Taylor, with his pointing and shouting, would fuck off as I do think he confuses the whole issue of defending. When Beye is in we look more comfortable but the minute Taylor plays there the defence ships a dodgy goal.

surely someone can think of a good caption for whats going through parkers mind there "Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Me run in circle! Me kick man in different colour shirt!" That seemed to go through his mind 99% of the time when he played for us

Oh no he din't
-
He's going to get crocked today.

I know we need numbers for the squad but when you consider at present we have Charlie, Jonas and Duff do we really need to sign another left winger even though he is on a free? I can't see Charlie staying for much longer.
-
He adds much needed depth and he's going to cost nowt. Sign him up.

We seem to tread the line between frugalness and outright stupidity. £6 million is a lot of money for an average left back.

That comment from Owen just reminds me of the Army General in Spinal Tap

As well as Enrique, the way things are, I'd agree. As a means to get rid of Enrique though? No thanks. I think the vast majority of people would, but Ashley seems to think you can run a football club with a threadbare first team squad and get away with it

Chavez - the only sane person in a mad, mad world I also don't buy Israel's "But they're hiding amongst civilians!" argument. As far as I know my MP lives in a house which is located in a street full of other houses. If we were to go to war with France and they bombed my MPs house while she was in it, taking out half the street with it then I don't think that is justified in any way. Oh, and there's also the issue that the Gaza Strip is massively overcrowded meaning that it's virtually impossible for Hamas fighters to go and stand out the way of everyone while they get bombed. Israeli rhetoric makes it sound as if Hamas are strapping children to them and daring the IDF to have a pop. Call me a sceptic but I doubt that's the case. Personally, I don't believe a word they're saying since they seem to lie to the world every time they get into a conflict in either the West Bank or Gaza, especially as Israel has been furiously oiling it's PR machine for weeks and months before this whole situation kicked off. Coincidence? -
Newcastle tell Man City to swap Johnson + cash for Given

Did your reliable source just read you Given's agent statement? Very probably -
Can we not signed his agent instead? With a name like Jazzman we'd sell a few shirts. And deep throats? Fucking hell, I thought he played for the Orlando Pirates not Watergate AFC.

According to my fairly reliable source he wanted to stay, break the appearance record and set up here for the rest of his career but over the past few months he's started to get fed up of the goings on at the club and the Liverpool match was the final straw. He basically thinks we've got more chance of sinking like a stone than winning a trophy so he wants away. -
Difference is when I look at those sides I get the feeling they're underperforming. They've got large squads with some fairly good players and by rights probably shouldn't be down there. We've got a small squad with some decent players but it's decimated by injuries. Our first choice XI when everyone is fit looks good on paper, but any amount of injuries and we look shite. We've got no one of Premiership quality as back up to our first choice back four, if Owen gets injured we'll have to play with Shola and Carroll upfront. I honestly think we're fucked. Yet you think we are overperforming? Nope, but I think our best is worse than the best of the clubs around us.

I don't disagree with a lot of what you say. I just don't buy into being inevitable by any means, even without January reinforcements. I can't see us picking up points on a regular basis without a full strength squad/improvements this month. WBA look to be finding a bit of form and could drag themselves out of the mire as could Blackburn. I wonder what odds I could get on all three NE clubs going down?

Fuck off The bloke was only offered a pay as you play contract in Brazil. He'll be dogshite in the Premiership.

We're building a squad for the Championship. We're going down this season unless something drastic happens over the next few weeks.
