  3. *amazingly manages to sit down in time for the movie to start, then miraculously makes it through a film without asking stupid fucking questions* *tells a story without waffling on about asanine details which bear little or no relevance to the point of the tale* *lies to get sex without feeling guilty*
  4. he was the baldest one there marra
  5. Belarus entry looks a little... post-op.. I'm getting the impression that she shares a lot in common with that shim what won big bruvva. also I find myself in a quandry... that french bird is Fit... but she's french which probably indicates she's of the hirsute persuasion, not a facet I value on my women
  6. 136819[/snapback] left to right wacky, sponge bob, alex, SMO, catmag, Craigol, mancmag

  9. is close to where strange things happen
  10. Brock, sounds like you didn't enjoy the second one... I thought it was one of those rareties, a quality sequel... They moved the story of "Mutancy" along, they fleshed out a couple of the characters, alluded to deeper history without becoming a flashback fest. They didn't simply go bigger budget, bigger effects and bigger death count. (Although there was a bigger budget, bigger effects and a larger death count.... ) I think it's the Stewart, McKellan and Jackman performances that really carry the films, they handle the subject with some degree of gravity, without taking it too seriously (See the first films for enough gags about the original comics). "Storm...right? Whaddya they call you?.. Wheels?" "You can actually fight in these things?" "What would you prefer.... Yellow Spandex?" also, Wolverine is fucking cool and I don't care what non-comic readers think.
  11. has probably ruined my scholastic career with that statement
  12. I would say that it's a very different kind of war film, but one that is only possible with the War in Iraq. It shows what soldiers endure through boredom , low morale etc. Brilliant photography, really strong main characters and a quite chilling depiction of that war. I think it really defines Desert Storm, the ambiguous reasons behind the war, and the futility of the conflict. It's almost as if this story is the perfect metaphor for the war itself. I would recommend (if possible) watching an abridged version with the deleted scenes left in, although I'm guessing Sam Mendes knows what he's up to. I'd put it behind Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan but I think that is because those two weren't just movies that went some way to suggest the horrors of war, but they were also awesome stories and by Directors at the top of their respective games. I think the problem with this film is the unpopularity of the conflict, I don't just mean politically, also as subject matter... perhaps because it's still a matter of current affairs or perhaps because the story isn't dominated by action in the same way as Ryan, or Apoc. It's certainly worth a watch, just don't go expecting any beach storming, either by Wagner's Valkyries, or bullet magnet boats.
  13. Jarhead really rate this, would recommend anyone watch it. Don't let anyone you live with ask one single question however as it will inevitably lead to a torrent of queries about war, munitions, tactics, chemical weapons, the ranks within the American army and any number of issues that you, as a (in the most case) British civilian, wouldn't have the first flying fucking clue about... /rant about bloody women and their inability to just watch a fucking film without questioning you about it.
  14. Seems like the fair folk from Wigan are planning something... well they're certainly doing their research... Clicky Any Vampire's not wanting to become ash-ified ahould avoid Farnborough me-thinks Mwuahahaha etc. If I were a new home owner....I'd also avoid Inverness
  15. don't think they can really do Apocalypse properly, Sinister is possible and Cable and Bishop is certainly do-able. the Savage land stuff probably would be dismissed quite quickly by non-comic buying fans of the X-Men. Hellfire Club is the most probable, with Emma Frost popping up somewhere with her Hellions. It'd be quite funny to have a crossover film, Spiderman, X-Men, Fantastic Four and the -shudder- Hulk... as long as the Hulk is no-longer in anyway given a chance to try and seem like anything more than a minmdless monster.
  16. is that including childs discount?
  17. I told you I'm going to the Bahamas, anything to get a bit of a tan. I've even been eying that OXO cube.
  18. fook me, I feel positively ethereal!
  19. Sabertooth is so much more... I dunno.. evil, in the comic rather than the mindless henchman portrayed in the film. The Sabretooth in the FIlm was simple and as malicious as a well trained attack dog. There was no real menace from a character who should be as cruel as possible. ... is this a geek off?
  20. looking forward to this, there hasn't been enough hype for my expectations to be falsely raised, but the blurb on the net, the snippets of interviews with McKellan and Stewart have certainly fanned the flames of anticipation. also I don't understand the casting of Vinny Jones as Juggernaut, the character is a massive bloke who says little and hits things hard... why they didn't take one of the plethora of man mountains that prance about the ring in Lycra for Wrestling shows is beyond me? Juggernaut is supposed to be 6' 10" and 900lbs... now obviously that's not feasible, but Vinny Jones is only 6'2" and couldn't tow 900lbs in his truck. I just think they could have got someone a little bigger to play what is essentially a non-talking role. they managed in the first film with Sabertooth..
  21. Battle Royale two is pretty much the same, although an early scene reminds me of Saving Private Ryan's beach scene. it's also a little heavy on the anti-america stance, gets a bit tiresome.
  22. typical yanks, had to take "Putting the square battery on your tongue" one step further
  23. 6' on the button and 13 and a half at last count trying to change fat to muscle, but it's not really working. Got a much better diet now and I do exercise, but I don't reckon it's enough.
