  1. Aye just like Chelsea ended their interest in Ashley Cole mid August 2005. Probably just like that, I'm afraid.
  2. Man City end interest in Joleon Lescott SSN ticker.
  3. Looks like it's not Rafa, at least.
  4. It's all over Twitter that a Premier League manager has walked.
  5. Krul. Apparently Arsenal made an inquiry last month and are sending a scout to watch the U21 match tonight.
  6. NUFC.com are running the story above so there could be something in it?
  7. NUFC.com Declaration claim From The Chronicle, Tuesday: A Far Eastern group has officially declared an interest in taking over Newcastle United. The news comes a day after Toon owner Mike Ashley put the club up for sale for £100m and invited people to e-mail in with bids. The organisation, which is based in Singapore, has already said it intends to keep Alan Shearer on as manager if the move is successful. It has links with existing football businesses, including a current Premier League club, as well as banking, property and legal services. A high-profile football figure has been recruited to spearhead the takeover attempt for the group, which was established in the 1980s. This isn't the first time that a similar story has emerged, with the attendance of former Liverpool midfielder Steve McMahon at our home friendly against PSV Eindhoven in August 2008 raising eyebrows. McMahon accompanied representatives of the Singapore -based Profitable Group on that visit, sparking rumours of a takeover bid. However he was quick to play that down, claiming that his brief was merely to act as Newcastle's strategic partner in the Far East. 2009 sees Profitable promoting Liverpool's pre-season matches in Singapore and Bangkok, while the Executive list at sister company Strategic Sports Investment (SSI) includes Kenny Dalglish as "UK Operations Advisor". PS: "European Operations Advisor" to SSI is one Darren Venn, formerly Commercial Director of Newcastle United.
  8. Be interesting to play poker with Ashley anyway (or noughts and crosses). Good hand = big smile, bad hand = pantomime sad face. For someone that likes his BIG bets, he surely doesn't play it cool.
  9. Does their ignorance have any bounds! If he hadn't lost so much money I swear this was all being done on purpose. How this club has survived Halls, Shepherd and now Ashley is frankly surprising. Fuck off Ashley!
  10. The Times seems to think there is serious interest from the Middle East.... and fat Fred! "Freddy Shepherd, Newcastle’s former chairman, is involved in one consortium that plans to meet Ashley’s advisers this week. Shepherd faces competition, however, from a group of Middle East investors, whose lawyers and accountants flew into Newcastle from Dubai on Friday to assess the club’s finances." Times Article
  11. I know, I know. Up at 4.30 this morning. Fixed now
  12. No takeover apparently; "However, Harris today insisted he had ``categorically not'' visited the region to talk to representatives of a locally-based consortium, and it is understood he is still waiting to hear from Ashley as to whether or not his services may be required." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...mp;&cc=5739
  13. Has anyone mentioned Simon Cox from Swindon? "Cox finished the 2008-09 season as joint top scorer in the Football League (all 4 divisions) with 29 League goals, along with Bristol Rovers' Rickie Lambert." We've been to scout him apparently, on more than one occasion.
  14. Been reported that Cashley has left the training ground via his chinook! More talks tomorrow.
  15. Sevilla are reportedly ready to raid relegated North East duo Newcastle and Middlesbrough. The Spanish giants' sporting director Ramon Gonzalez Monchi is working on the club's targets for the summer. And two names near the top of their wanted list are Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini and Afonso Alves of Middlesbrough. Sky Sports website.
  16. Torres is a class act as well. On par I'd say. If Rafa has the cash he should be trying to pair them up. That'd be some partnership. Agreed, the classic big man little man. With the all the athleticism of modern football to boot!
  17. Our last victory was against the worst team in the league too. Just to put it into some sort of perspective.
  18. Villa would have more of an impact on the Premiership than Torres has IMO. Great player.
