  1. He is unworthy of the shirt!!!!

What the fcuk has he done for us lately..

His scoring rate in the league is abysmal compared to Rooney, Drogba & Shevchenko this season..

We even surround him with shit , so he can look good and he still disappoints..

A paltry six goals in 12 appearances and 2 asssists

    What a load of shite...

    Ship him back to Milan...

    and lets get Shevchenko

  2. A lot of the criticism of Oba is over the top and unjustified...

He has scored 6 goals made 2 assists in 12 appearances 5 of them as substitute.

Torres has scored 6 made 2 assists in 11 appearances

Torres is a starter and the Pool plays for him to score goals and he has been successful for them. he misses his fair share of chances yet is considered by many here as world class.

Oba however is playing in a team where chances created are at a premium and the team's tactics is not suite to his style of play and he is considered to be shit by many on this board

I watch many of the top teams play and I can tell u that Drogba 's 1st touch is often shite..that Rooney , Tevez and Torres often miss sitters. However the teams that they play for create enough chances to so that it does not become an issue...

U guys will only miss Oba when he is gone

  3. He needs to start games to keep his place in French national team. Ironically he is france 1st choice right back. He is ahead of Sanga in the pecking order . His preferred playing position is in the Central Midfield... he can do a job for us as he is much better than anyone we have there at the moment

  4. We would have to play through ur nose for Defoe...He is too similar to Martins and Owen for my liking. he requires ball played into space to be effective.

Jones on the other hand is the perfect target man. He can use both feet ....is pretty good on the ball and is excellent in the air...I think he is the perfect acquisition...Sunderland are desperate for quality players with premiership experience ..U can prbly offer Ameobi and some other unfortunate to them in exchange

  5. No pace ...no power.....no guile

They are neither fish nor fowl!!!!

Who in their right mind would pick Geremi or Barton over a player like Pape Bouba Diop!!!!

    Big Sam should be shot

I don't agree with the whole concept of booing..

I especially don't believe in the concept of booing players ..but Big Sam has been looking for iit since the beginning of the season...His purchases displayed a simple lack of common sense.

Big Sam did play very basic football ay Bolton but the fact is his teams were always full of technically adept players eg Diouf ,Campo ,Okocha ,Djorjaeff and Anelka. So even though they did play route one footballl, they did not give away the ball often and the players were tactically disciplined.

Newcastle is the opposite of Bolton ,the players at Newcastle have inferior technique, physicallly and psychologically weak.

  6. I would love to see goals like that from martins, but in 18 months he hasnt scored any as good as those.(except against spurs) Is that lose of form/confidence, or it it cause of tighter defenses? Its unlikely he will get the time and space to be allowed such shooting chances in the league.

He may shine in a cup game this season though.

I guess sometimes ppl see what they want to see.

Martins has already scored a few gems this season ...

Look posting a clip of Owen during his Liverpool only highlights the difference btw Michael Owen then and now. he is still an excellent finisher but when is the last time u've seen him outpace a defender...

Secondly that Liverpool side was designed to make Owen look good...It was a team that would absorb a lot of presssure and hit u with the fast break...The fact was that Owen is prolific when a side is built around him.. Martins played essentially as a lone striker last season in a side team that could'nt string more than 3 passes together and almost scored 20 goals...Y is'nt he being given a chance this season

  7. I hope you didn't think I was having a go, just curious. Your flag is greek, have you no communal ties to any greek sides?

(Don't get me wrong, the more Newcastle fans the better, but I'm unable to understand why you'd support a player over a club? Surely you don't get the community, the shared joy and pain?)

lol...i like ur tongue in cheek reply

I am not greek..nor do I support Sunderland....

I support football and attractive football and I enjoyed watching Newcastle play as a boy so they still have a measure of my support

  8. Just as an aside, this seems to be a continental thing, being a fan of a player, rather than a team. I remember a few lads raving about one player or other then disappearing as soon as the player was discovered as the average player he was. Kluivert springs to mind.

I'm not saying Oba is average, I'm just curious as to why somebody would be a fan of one player rather than a team?

I can only speak from my perspective ...i am not from the British Isles therefore have no physical ties with Newcastle. However as a kid I enjoyed watching ur Newcastle play ..I was even a bigger fan in the Robson days but since then ur board /owners/coaches have undone all the good work that Sir Booby had done. I still have a soft spot for newcastle however but I am not a diehard like most of u. There is too much good football being played these days to be fixated by one club especially if u don't have any communal ties with that club..

I have been a big fan of Martins since he was at Inter ....and I was amazed by his pace, skill on the ball and he had a wondrous eye for goal....But Italy is a pretty demanding league and even though he scored a lot of goals for them ...he was always behind Adriano and Vieri in the pecking order...

I thought at Newcastle ..he would have been given a chance to shine but I find the fans have been particularly harsh on the lad...He has a pretty good scoring record for u..Whether u like it or not the club would have been relegated if it was'nt for his goals (most of which were unassisted) and yet he has been demoted to a mere squad player under big Sam despite being top goalscorer.

The fact is that if he leaves I will still support Newcastle but I must admit I am a bigger fan of Oba..

  9. Good player Diouf, better than N'Zogbia, Duff and Milner would be for us down the left in a 4-3-3 formation, links up the midfield and attack well.

Why not splash the cash on Anelka...Surely he must want to leave the Reebok...

Buying a big name like Anelka is all fine and good but money has to be invested in bringing young talent to the club....I don't mean spalshing 16/17 million pounds on a single player but many players can be brought in for as little as 6 or 7 million ...Who would predict that Kenwyne Jone would have made such an impact of the Black Cats....I did..Y because I saw him play in the Fifa U 17 tournament in 2001 ..A tournament which featured players like Kaka and Tevez..Good teams send scouts to these tournaments and buy them comparably cheap..Could u imagine NUFC could have had Kaka or Tevez on their books instead of Barton and Geremi..

The problem with the midtable teams is that they really don't know where to look and end up paying toop $$ for fading stars while sides like Arsenal have a global scouting system where they pick up the same type of player for pennies before they become stars.

  11. Diouf is a fine player but he is neither a goalscorer nor a winger...Right Now Nufc needs players with pace and who are willing to take on men and whip in crosses

Have a look at this guy....He plays in the French league anc he can be bought relatvely cheap
