good start. Tonali, injury crisis, inconsistent form. The worry for me is our injury issues don’t seem to go away. We have overachieved in goals and chances scored, our defence has been frankly nowhere near good enough, compared to last season.

2 new centre backs, a fully fit botman, and a left back that is consistent (though hall looks to be getting there) and we will be better off, also a summer of cleaning the championship level players out and a more intelligent right winger and options at centre forward that aren’t sick notes…

Mouth is now reporting that Man City have activated Bruno Gs release clause. Absolute clown.

He’s not a city type of player, and wouldn’t displace Rodri, and this guy just appears to be a numpty. His feed is full of attention seeking rubbish.

  3. A win. One of Casemiro legs falls off, garnacho trips over it twice gets 2 yellows for diving, rashford actually breaks into a jog twice, and that buck tooth cunt kicks him self in the head. Erik ten hag says it’s someone else’s fault… again. The entire home end of the stadium collapses in shame.

That’s an interesting thought. Wonder if he could be converted to play the modern DM role the way Ross Barkley has. He looks to have the technical ability to receive the ball in tight areas and has clearly packed on a bit of muscle too.

Or against the better sides alternating with another 6. 2defensive pivots both with the ability to receive the ball and control the pace of the game as well as ability to burst forward. He can see a line breaking pass though whether apart from Isak we have the quality of movement up front is a slightly different thing.

definitely. We’ve missed a player with physicality in midfield since big Joe’s injury and Anderson provided it yesterday. His pressing and strength was impressive

Maybe medium term have him playing as a 6 in front of the defence as he can playmaker and have Bruno playing as an 8. He was very good yesterday, and looks like he’s improving game on game….

  6. My 2 penneth. Once the champions league games were underway we were playing 2 v difficult games a week for a while. The team was on its knees because of accumulated fatigue and lack of meaningful squad depth. The style of our team means fitness first is the way to go but the team has literally run itself into the ground. Our tactics as well and howes willingness to stick with players out of form or injured means we’ve had next to no rhythm and his decision making is getting more odd as the season goes on.

I think if we’d have got a non European slot last season we’d have finished higher this season..

also our players do seem to get injured more than most other teams… maybe we’ve just had a duff season!

  7. Them and Burnley totally out of their depth. The thing is of the promoted sides next year, I can’t see any of them bouncing back down either…. The chasm between top flight and championship is getting bigger.

  8. Chiesa is a risk As he had a pretty bad injury, though when he was fit he was well worth watching out for. . Is rabiot available on a free? Think he’s out of contract. Could be useful?

Granted JWP lacks for strength and power, but I thought I saw a stat showing that he covered amongst the most kms/p match of any player in the PL. If not the most. I also don't doubt his technique either as he's one of the best technical players going around when it comes to finding a pass, cross or shot. Granted he lacks in dribbling and he's only an average tackler compared to others in his position. I too thought JWP wasn't worth the gamble but I saw an article the other week pointing out his strengths and I've kinda been won over to thinking he might be worth it for the right price. If we could get him for between 10-15m, then I think that would be good business to add another set of legs in midfield that run all day, with the added benefit of some good technical abilities and set piece prowess that is unmatched. I think it's become a little bit fashionable to hate on him as a one trick pony type of player who has found his level at the bottom end of the PL. But I think that may well be a matter of his reality being confused with his potential. I'd like to see us at least test Southampton's resolve to keep him if we low-ball them, knowing that the player is likely never going to get a better chance to leave and will certainly be onboard and agitating to be allowed to do so.

Great squad addition, not long term first team solution.

With Southampton's relegation, I think it could be a good opportunity to sign a player from that team who doesn't want to play in the Championship.

-Ward Prowse. I think he could be a good bench player. He has a similar level to Longstaff and can give us something more when Bruno is out.

-Romeo Lavia. He is definitely my favorite player on this team. His first lap was sensational and he is only 19 years old.

-Livramento. He can be a good understudy for Trippier and our future right-back. He is only 20 years old.

-Salisu. Maybe he is confusing me. I admit that I didn't like it at all when he played in Spain, but his level in the Premier League has surprised me.

Ward prowse doesn’t have the engine, strength or technique of any of our 3 in the middle. His free kicks and pens are excellent but we’d lose something if we stuck him in the first team. Agree with the others. Labuan is a big prospect, but a bit raw.

  11. Big Sam to Leeds on probably a silly contract. Hope they and Everton go down. Not that I dislike Sean dyche, but because of how they run their club.

Leeds have been awful this season. They just don’t look good at all.

shame Chelsea can’t be relegated as well… fat frank has effectively killed his management career off with this job (though his track record was always poor).

Dead psychological you like. I want to lift the turf in your back garden. Don't worry I'm not a grass.

Not really, just expressing an opinion poorly.
