  1. i'm bricking it.

Bricks are surely the only way?

Forget your job worries, your biggest challenge is facing broad south-west accents and keeping a straight face. Every day is talk like a pirate day!

Dunno how I got through the interview like, was like talking to Worzel Gummidge.

  2. Good luck mate. I hope you did GT and the downhill course at Inners

Greatest Biking in the UK :D

I've done one of the courses there and nearly died. Its for maniacs only. The guys who get to totally nuts speed deserve respect as they clearly have a death wish...

  3. Best of luck dude, just take comfort in the fact where ever you are it will never be a bigger shit hole than Lowestoft !!!

 I'll bear that in mind, if things get really bad, i'll take a trip there to cheer myself up...

  4. from Innerleithen (30ish miles south of edinburgh)

What you should have said is "6 miles south of Peebles" Then people would understand it's significance. :D

    Good luck though mate. <_<

my god, you're right. Editted the original now

  5. The time to stop being a student and finally enter the 'real' world is upon me now. Tomorrow I finally make the move from Innerleithen (6 miles from peebles) to plymouth 450 miles away. Start my first 'proper' tax paying job on monday. It's now safe to say i'm bricking it. Might have lived away from home for the past 4 years, but the thought of a job and being stuck in a place with a right funny accent 8 hours from home ain't filling me with joy. Sure it'll be better when it starts though.

  6. I think the parents do have the right to choose if they want to send their kids to a faith school or not. However, these schools should all be privately funded, and meet all the core curriculum requirements, as they have no place in within the state run school system.

  7. They won't give a new handset to you unless you've spent well, well over your contract each month. If you have they will give you a new one.

Otherwise you have to wait until 1-2 months before the 12/18 months then you can get a new handset for free. If you threaten to cancel or stop the deal you might be able to reduce the monthly fee but thats it.

  8. In my corporate finance seminar, we only get the answers if we turn up.. and even that isn't in a hard copy so we literally have to go there and write down what the answer is.. Spose it is a decent way of getting us into uni!

We had that system a bit, but you could always find someones who's notes you could photocopy. Same for the ones with the sign in sheet, someone would always sign your name anyway.

  9. tbh I think dj's are overated....any daft twat can stick a few tunes on the decks imho

    Yeh. I'd agree with that.

Think the only dj i've seen is Clint Boon of inspiral carpets fame.

  10. Sigur Ros at Manchester Apollo was class

Radiohead at Glasto '03 was great too

Statistics at the Pheonix Club was class too, mostly as it was such a small intense venue

Bright Eyes/Rilo Kiley at Manchester Academy 2 was very hit and miss. Rilo Kiley were awesome, Bright Eyes were mostly dissapointing except for their last 3 songs which were class.

  11. you only have the one tv?

well there a portables in the 2 bedrooms but only one 'big telly' :D

then make do with a small one until you decide what to do with the big one. Is that really such a hardship?

  12. Introduction of the euro; massive investment in public transport funded by toll roads (not just motorways but A-roads); close to 100% taxation of income in excess of (say) 100k p.a.; sterilisation of the wilfully unemployed and unemployable; free MENvelopes in every pub, shop and school. :D

Totally pointless as they'd all just leave the country, or switch their wages so that its paid elsewhere. The biggest tax rate that i think is ethically allowable and reasonable is 50%, and thats only for the very top levels.

  13. 1. Reintroduce a 2 or 3 tier university system. Vastly reduce funding for pointless degrees.

    2. No road tax but higher fuel tax, as jimbo said, you pay for what you use.

    3. NHS only to do essential, preventative and A&E stuff only, rest to be funded privately (IVF, cosmetic surgery etc)

    4. common sense element in the law, if you don't have any common sense then tough shit. The aim of this is to stop the blame culture law cases "I was jabbing a fork into my and eye and it blinded me so i'm suing the fork company" type cases.

    5. For the long term unemployed, to do community service in order to earn their benefits, the longer they are out of work the harder the service.

  14. I made about 90% of lectures (I had usually 20-25hours worth a week) on average at uni. The ones i tended to miss were when it was 1 hour in the morning then nothing else for the rest of the day, too much effort getting up to walk 25 min to uni for a 50 min lecture, just to then spend 25 min walking home. Most folk made most of the lectures though, as the subjects got pretty hard pretty quick, so if you missed them it made the exam neigh on impossible.
