Where's that from?

Off the record? He would have been talking to the journalist for at least half an hour...

Shearer and Keegan - I have to admit I'd be all for it now

I've just read the whole transcript of the Sky interview on .com and he says a few interesting things (especially about Shepherd), but he seems happy to suggest that the way he destroyed Sir Bobby's team and left a mess was nothing to do with him. And you were successful at, wait for it, one of those clubs? Two maybe? Regardless of whether that's true or not, it's a bit rich coming from Souness, who seemed to have plenty of mates in the media willing to stick up for him. I'm still eating my humble pie btw, isn't that right Alan Hansen. Great to see he's still trotting out the same old phrases. Lady Luck, proper player, someone you would want to be with in the trenches, bla bla. I don't miss his rhetorics!

Hitzfeld, Houllier and Van Gaal now in the frame

Bolton game is huge imo - could be the game that the season hangs on (relegation dogfight or mid-table comfort zone) Good call. We've got to believe we've got it in us to beat Bolton at home even under 'a.n. other'. This would then make the world of difference to how we can afford to approach the rest of the season and ergo how much luxury (in terms of time) we get to look for the next manager. This is so cliched it's horrific but how would people fel to El Tel being offered silly money just to come in as caretaker til May and see us through? Personally I'd make him an offer he couldnt refuse. No! -

To be fair to Redknapp, he has signed some good players, but the bit about him suddenly being labelled a great entertainer when it's not really true is spot on. That's why I was dead against him when it looked like he'd already signed.

I'm a big fan of Bright Eyes and Death Cab for Cutie, I didn't know they were "emo", interesting. They were, then what it (emo) was changed, and they are no longer emo. Emo these days is stuff like fall out boy, my chemical romance and the like. The rock night here in plymouth is truely terrible since they just play emo style crap and when i ask for something like the clash the DJ just laughs...

Hughes out. If we get Hughes, I really hope there was no truth in that rumour.
-
It's not like it was just a couple of quotes either - it was a huge interview! Who did those journalists talk to then?
-
I love how the Guardian says that Hughes is now Ashley's no. 1 choice, but that "in addition to Hughes, senior Newcastle United sources last night said that the CVs of several candidates are being scrutinised, including those of Gérard Houllier, Jose Mourinho and Steve McClaren." How can they possibly "scrutinise" several candidates' CVs when one of them is Mourinho? It's hard to argue with his CV... (EDIT: not that he'd come obviously! But imagine Mort going through CVs and comparing McClaren's to Mourinho's...) As for Hughes, I'd be much happier with him than with Redknapp. At least his career is very much on the up, unlike that old fart Redknapp's.

Who do you think will be our next manager?

I wonder what Gemmill makes of this?

According to the papers here he's likely to accept the Swiss job. -
Better than your last 10 efforts combined, keep it up!

Tonight's showing will have made us even more attractive for whoever wants the manager's job...
-
I don't know. I think most of our players would do quite well if they played for Everton, Man City etc, apart from a few obvious exceptions.
-
To be honest, the whole team were a shambles. Well done to Smith for managing to stand out from the rest though - by being even poorer than the others. Nothing new there then.

Thanks Jimbo!

Isegrim is right about Bilic tbh.
