  1. Noelie and Leazes come to blows over Shepherd....
  2. Fuck it, I will still try it as them... Done a major reshuffle of the squad
  3. But you went Celtic not Aberdeen? I'll try this too btw Would love to do it with Newcastle but the homegrown rule would fuck it up.
  4. I want to do an all Scottish one, just can't decide who to do it with. Would rather not go one of the Old Firm but I dont think any of the other clubs have the resources to do it...
  5. St James' Park officials are remaining tight-lipped but Telegraph Sport understands from reliable sources on Tyneside that a new deal will be confirmed by the Championship club early in the new year. Newcastle owner and sports retail tycoon Mike Ashley has agreed to make the switch to Puma after negotiations to extend Adidas's 14-year association with the North-East club broke down. On the other hand, Adidas have designed many eye-catching home shirts in the traditional black and white stripes since they linked up with Newcastle during Kevin Keegan's first spell in charge as manager when Newcastle challenged for the Premier League title. Telegraph Sport has also learnt that Newcastle officials are locked in talks with Tyneside-based Northern Rock to extend their long-running role as the club's principal shirt sponsors. The current deal with the troubled financial institution was signed during Freddy Shepherd's spell as chairman and it seems as though they could remain partners on a long-term basis, with the club leading the race to win promotion back to the Premier League following relegation last season. The Puma deal and the Northern Rock negotiations represent the latest in a series of commercial developments at the Tyneside club with Newcastle still on the look-out for sponsors for their home ground which is currently known as the sportsdirect.com@st james park. For now, though, Derek Llambias, the Newcastle managing director who runs the club for Ashley, will be focusing on making sure the club's promotion push does not falter after their lead over the chasing pack was cut to six points following the 0-0 draw against derby at St James' Park on Monday. "Our position gives us a real edge ahead of what will be a crucial few months as the club attempts to win promotion and return to the Premier League at the first time of asking," Llambias said. "Both on and off the pitch there is no room for complacency and everyone at Newcastle United is fully aware that only half the job has been done so far. "But make no mistake about it, our primary goal in 2010 is promotion back to the Premier League and we will be doing everything we can in the coming months to make that ambition a reality." Manager Chris Hughton, whose club are poised to mount a £1.5 million move for Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford, echoed Llambias' sentiments, adding: "We now head into 2010 in a great position but the one thing we have to guard against is complacency. "We are there to be shot at and caught up but we have to make sure we win enough games and get enough points to maintain our position. "We trust our players and while 2009 was a year that people will remember for all the wrong reasons it's up to us to make sure 2010 goes down in history as the year we regained our place in the top flight."
  6. Chris Hughton: I want Jermaine Beckford Dec 29 2009 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle CHRIS HUGHTON has admitted he is keen on bringing long-term Newcastle target Jermaine Beckford to St James’ Park next month. And the Chronicle understands that out-of-favour Cardiff City star Michael Chopra is also being considered for a shock return to Gallowgate. Marlon Harewood has been pushed to the back of the Toon manager’s pecking order due to Aston Villa’s insistence on a £250,000 loan fee to go with his £28,000 per week wages. A move to Newcastle for Beckford would be no major surprise as the player has been on United’s shortlist since his former Leeds boss Dennis Wise was controversially installed as transfer chief back in January 2008. And although ex-boss Kevin Keegan rarely agreed with the little Londoner’s taste for players, he was keen to sign the prolific Elland Road star. The Chronicle first reported United’s interest in Beckford during the ill-fated KK era in May 2008. However, he has stayed on the Magpies’ radar, and both Joe Kinnear and Alan Shearer were interested in bringing the 26-year-old to Tyneside during their stints in charge. Hughton told the Chronicle today: “Jermaine Beckford is one of a few players that will, of course, be of interest to us. “In the work that we’ve done over the last few weeks and months, there have been numerous names that have been thrown at us. “We have to look at all the options we have, but, certainly, Jermaine’s a player that will come into those options.” Chopra wants to return to the North East and was dropped for Cardiff’s astonishing 4-4 draw at Peterborough United yesterday. The former England Under-21 international quit Tyneside in 2006 and has been a success in three stints at Cardiff City. Chopra, who also made 39 appearances for Sunderland after becoming such a hit at Cardiff, however, wouldn’t come on the cheap after the Bluebirds paid £4m for his services last season. And United may have to stump up a hefty sum to secure one of the Championship’s predatory strikers. However, cash-strapped Cardiff will be open to offers. Hughton says: “It’s no secret that we want to replace what we’ve had, which is a centre-forward and a centre-half. “The two players – Zurab and Marlon – have gone back, and we have to make decisions on those two, and look at the options we have. “At this moment, we’re still making decisions, and weighing up the options we have, and nothing’s been finalised yet.” One player that Hughton says he is not chasing, though, is Rangers star Kris Boyd. Hughton has already dismissed talk of Boyd coming to Tyneside during the January window and was mystified by fresh speculation linking him with the Ibrox star. He said: “That’s absolute news to me. I’m not aware of anything there.” Hughton has assured fans that he will be working round the clock during the window to make sure the job of promotion is complete. He said: “There will be players that become available who we thought wouldn’t be available.”
  7. Got promotion on the first attempt but only came 2nd to a strong West Brom side As you can see from my goals scored I relied heavily on the loan signing of James Vaughan who scored the majority of my goals. Before the season even ended and having still had some transfer budget left (along with releasing Geremi which also allowed me to adjust my budget) I managed to strike a permanent deal for James Vaughan as well as setting up deals with Bolton and Wolves for Matty Taylor and Michael Kightly. I still hope to sign a better left winger but with Wilshere going back to Arsenal and me having to get rid of Jonas and Lovenkrands to complete my all English squad I was desperate to get some players in straight away.
  8. Here is my first 2 transfer windows I am currently battling with West Brom for top spot with us taking over each other every other week...
  9. Will give you an update on my progress tomorrow. I am currently about 3/4 of the way through my first season...
  10. well you are not really taking part then are you?
  11. Finished the season 5th and the winners of the Waffa Cup 47 Goals for Villa and 33 for Zigic
  12. Finally started a new game last night that did not involve Newcastle or Aberdeen. Started the game unemployed so that I would end up getting a completely random team. I was knocked back for many jobs over the first 4 or 5 months including the Newcastle job but strangely was given the Valencia job who were sitting 14th in La Liga. Have managed to get them up to 6th with a few games of the season to go and I am currently in the semi finals of the Waffa Cup or whatever its called these days. I did sign Oscar Cardoza and Ruud Van Horseface (as a back up) but Zigic and Villa are goal machines.
  13. I am not having to lift a finger this year which is great having been the host last year. Going to my folks where it will no doubt be traditional Turkey, Stuffing and Ham, all the usual veg and a crazy selection of pigs in blankets, chorizo sausages, haggis sausages etc Going to the in laws for breakfast on Christmas morning and then there for dinner on Boxing Day so really will be taking it easy this year. *We also have starters and/or soup and my gym is also open on Christmas Day*
  14. A PREMIER League manager spent more than an hour in the company of hookers in a "Thai" vice den, The Sun can reveal. And when confronted by our reporters as he left, the married boss smiled and shamelessly admitted he knew it was a brothel. We watched as the football chief was driven to the "massage parlour" last week. He was still dressed in branded soccer training gear. Creeping privacy laws in the UK, based on the Human Rights Act, mean we are barred from naming him. The brothel he visited is on an industrial estate and has no signs to indicate the seedy goings on inside. The manager stepped out of his car, pulled on an overcoat then walked in. More than an hour passed before the brazen boss emerged with his mobile phone glued to his ear. We confronted him and asked him to confirm his identity. He did - and smiled as he agreed he knew he had been in the company of hookers. Asked if he knew the building was a brothel, the soccer boss smiled and replied: "Yes." The Sun asked him why he was in a brothel, but he refused to answer - and got into the back of the car. When we asked him what he had been doing the car roared off at speed. But ten minutes later the same car returned with another driver at the wheel. The man rushed into the brothel before coming out a short time later. A delivery man who saw the extraordinary events unfold told The Sun: "Everyone around here knows that it's a brothel and not a massage parlour. "I was watching when the car pulled up and I was stunned when I saw who got out of the back. "I recognised him straight away and so I carried on watching until he came out about an hour later. "I was amazed that someone like him didn't try to hide what he was doing. "He just drove up, got out and went in. He obviously thought no one would recognise him but he's a Premier League football manager." The Sun can also reveal the manager was spotted outside the brothel, which uses Asian massage girls, in October. Again, he spent an hour inside. A football insider said: "This is a man who oversees a football club which has been involved in multi-million pound transfers and pays players tens of thousands of pounds every week. "Behaving like this leaves him and the club wide open to the threat of blackmail by criminals. Football is a massive business and he has a huge responsibility to the directors, the players and, of course, the fans. It's scarcely believable that he could be so reckless." Punters using the brothel are offered massages or Jacuzzis and saunas - but hidden extras are easy to find. A Sun reporter was let in after pressing an intercom buzzer on the front door. He walked into a foyer containing a washing machine and clean white towels. A woman, thought to be the brothel madam, appeared behind a steel barred gate and beckoned our man inside. She led him down a corridor and into a room with mirrored walls, where a woman in her 30s was waiting dressed in a maid's outfit. The girl told our man her services would cost £100 an hour. When he asked if he could order any extras, she nodded - and mimed a sex act with her hand and mouth. Our investigator then asked if she offered full sex and the hooker replied: "Ah no, that's what you want? I'll tell you later." The reporter then offered £70 for half an hour including full sex. But the girl replied: "One hundred and thirty pounds, it's better if you go one hour - everything." When the reporter said he did not have that much money on him, she asked how much he had. He counted out £100 and she replied: "That's fine - you have enough." When he asked if that included full sex, the girl said: "Shh, don't say that." She pointed outside and pushed the door to. She took the money, left the room and shut the door. The girl returned a couple of minutes later and said: "OK darling, take off all your things. Have you been here before? We'll take a shower and go to the Jacuzzi." Our man said he was nervous, regretted going there and wanted to leave. But the girl insisted she wanted to complete the "massage" because she had been paid and stripped to her bra and knickers. When our man told her he was leaving, the hooker returned with the brothel madam who offered him half his money back. Our investigator then left the building. 17. Nolberto Solano is training with Colchester as boss Aidy Boothroyd weighs up a move for the former Newcastle and Aston Villa midfielder. The 35-year-old, who plays for Peruvian champions Universitario de Deportes, join up with the U's this week. Solano made more than 250 Premier League appearances for Newcastle, Villa and West Ham between 1998 and 2008. Boothroyd told the club's website: "If it all goes well it might be something that we do." He added: "I tried to sign him for Watford but he went off to America. "He now plays for a team in Peru who have just won the championship there and I asked him to come over and see if he's still got what he had and to see if he likes us. "I suppose it is a bit of a date that we're having at the moment. As is usually the case you don't get married on a first date, you've got to go out a few times before you make any big decisions."
