  1. Thought I would do a quick post on how my team is getting on. I have gradually been getting more and more bored with the FM series after a few games as they seem too easy and unrealistic. I now much prefer challenges or to build all nation teams etc. I have started a Newcastle game where the challenge is to sign no players at all and work with what I have and to improve the youth facilities and see what young talent I can bring through. First season I sold Jonas as he wasnt the type of player needed for my formation and loaned out Harper to try and ease the wage bill a bit. As most do I pretty much walked the league at the first attempt. I have just finished my second season which seen me let go of Pancrate and Lovenkrands and loan out Shola, Best, Routledge and Williamson and in what was a strange season that seen Everton win the league I managed to pull off 4th with the existing squad. (notice the relegated teams ) Most of my success has come through my attacking players in a strike force of Ranger and Carroll with Vuckic playing just behind them. I have been giving a number of the younger players playing time with Kadar and Taylor being my main centre halfs but Tozer getting plenty of opportunities, Shane Ferguson being retrained to provide cover for Enrique at left back, in midfield Ryan Donaldson and Lua Lua have been included and my main surprise in the progression of Bradden Inman who has been a key player in my first season back in the premiership. Spear surprisingly has not progressed as well as he has done in previous games for me although I am still going to give him an opportunity in the hope that he provides another option up front. I think I am going to have to let some players go or loan them out again as I am struggling to keep everyone happy with and the likes of Nolan and Simpson have seen very little pitch time in this last season.
  2. RTG is fooked/running slowly when running at all... The mackems must be rushing on there to express their delight in signing big Titus.
  3. Have bought my ticket for next years T in the Park already. Also bought a campervan ticket, just now need to find a campervan...
  4. Cheers all. Don't really treat it as anything other than another day nowadays. Had a loafing day though as I always take the Monday and Tuesday off after T in the Park to chill a little and have just got back from a meal with my wife.
  5. Who the fuck was that? I have met a fair few from here and had a small part of the clique up here for my wedding last year.
  6. I don't think we will look for that much tbh. Ashley will be happy to get another of the high earners off the wage bill, although I have seen James name being linked with us and hes on a decent wage

  8. Given your predictions throughout the World Cup your opinion on footballers shouldn't count tbh
  9. Skysports.com understands Celtic and Newcastle are monitoring James McFadden's contractual situation at Birmingham. The talented Scotland international has a year left on his existing deal and has yet to agree an extension at St Andrews. McFadden has proven a popular figure in the Midlands since joining Birmingham in 2008 from Everton. Blues boss Alex McLeish would be loath to lose the talented schemer but could face competition to keep him should Celtic and Newcastle firm up initial interest. Celtic have long-since admired the player and could test Birmingham's resolve to keep Glasgow-born McFadden with an offer in the region of £3million. Newly promoted Newcastle are scouring the market for proven top-flight performers and may just see McFadden as an ideal addition.
  10. Have taken a chance and booked the travelodge for both of the home midweek games already.
  11. FAO Mike and Dekka - "The first team shirt worn in the Championship this year (and previous seasons) will form the basis for what supporters will be wearing for next season in the Premier League. There is no plan for new capital outlay on new clothing or merchandise."
  12. CaulkinTheTimes: For those asking whether no "new" outlay means there might be something in the pot ... #Nufc say their £20m overdraft is "fully committed."
