TIM KRUL has revealed that milking the applause of the Toon Army at the end of his sensational performance at West Brom was one of the best feelings of his career so far.
The Dutchman – who links up today with the Holland Under-21 side to face England tomorrow – was making only his second appearance for United and remains unbeaten following a string of superb stops against Albion to help net the Magpies a point.
Krul followed on from his exploits in Palermo three years ago when he made his Toon debut with an equally outstanding performance against the Serie A side.
And he told the Chronicle today: “I’ve been waiting for it.
“Just to look at the 2,700 Geordies who travelled, there was nothing better. It’s crazy.
“Of course, your debut is the most important thing, but it was three years ago, and this is a fantastic result for the boys, and it gives us a good boost.”
But Krul was also concerned about the condition of his team-mate Steve Harper, who needed hospital treatment in the Black Country after taking a boot in the head from Shola Ameobi after United conceded the first goal.
Krul says: “My main thought is about Steve and his head – hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked.
“Of course, we’ll take it from there. I was just happy to get a point for the club – the boys were all pleased we came away with a point.
“First of all I realised straight away it was Steve’s head, so I felt really bad in the first place.
“Then I looked at Paul Barron, who said to get warmed up just in case.
“Steve was really dizzy, and I went to him when the first half was finished and he said it wasn’t very good at all.
“I’m hoping everything is all right.”
And reflecting on the series of top stops, Krul added: “The first one was after one minute, I think. It’s always good to get straight in. It was a great feeling, and got my confidence straight up.
“After that loads happened. For the volley, I was more protecting my face than making a save!
“It was fantastic – unbelievable again!”

looks liek a "reaction" keeper - they're great to watch but I'd take a "positional" keeper anyday
Surely you have to be in the correct position to have the chance to make a reaction save?

Just found out that Chris Mort and his two sons were in the away end on Saturday.

I'll be the first to admit when we first signed Coloccini I thought he was going to be mint. Well known and respected international CB, good FM stats and daft hair, he had all the attributes to be a top signing.
How first impressions can be so, so wrong.
Watch the WBA goal again and just have a look at his role in it. Absolute disgrace in conference football, never mind in with the big boys in the Championship.
We should be doing our best to shift him ASAP. Anything over 5million would be superb business.

Just seen a replay of the WBA goal. If you watch it again and just watch Coloccini, you'll be gobsmacked at how bad he was.

I think it says it all about that article when in the title he indicates 'within days' as part of a quote, yet it isn't mentioned in the whole piece.

That just reminded me of:
Permission to start thread: DENIED!

Good stuff from Crumpy like.

Duff, Geremi, Barton, Coloccini, Gutierrez will all be on 60kpw+
Then the likes of Nolan, S Taylor will be on 40ish
Then some more clowns on 25kpw
-
Owen, Viduka, Martins and Beye will have made up a hefty chunk of the wagebill IMO. Then there's Cacapa who we were paying for nothing.
Best part of 300kpw there off the bill, for the best part of fuck all contribution to the team.

Guthrie is out, so team prediction....
Harper
Ryan Taylor Steven Taylor Coloccini Enrique
Lua Lua Smith Barton Gutierrez
Shola Duff
Doubt he will drop Nolan.

Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias said in a statement: "We would love to be able to expand further on the sale and managerial position at the club, but we're very sorry we're unable to make any further comment at the present time."
Not denying it then.
Where was this from mate?
Taken from the article on the BBC site.

SSN denying it now

3-0 to them? 2-0 to them, no fucking way, were shite but honestly not that shite, what people seem to forget they are awful as well. I say it'll be a 1-1 or 2-2 draw.
4-4-1-1 for me.
Harper
Raylor Saylor Coloccini Enrique
Lua Lua Guthrie Barton Duff
Nolan
Carroll
6-1 at Orient suggests otherwise.

Dare I say, inventing our own tournament might also give us a chance of some silverware.
That's what the Newcastle/Gateshead cup was for.
I'd be all up for them rotating the hosts for it. Weekend jaunts to Holland, Spain et al would be superb
-
I'd go for: (Assuming Beye wont play)
Harper
R Taylor S Taylor Coloccini Enrique
LuaLua Nolan Barton Jonas
Carroll Duff
I can see Hughton going for
Harper
R Taylor S Taylor Kadar Enrique
LuaLua Barton Smith Duff
Nolan
Ameobi
Either way, a comfortable 3-0 WBA win.

im a sheff weds fan. our allocation of tickets for the match against newcastle in a couple of weeks has all but sold out. we got 3000 tickets, do you think that were likely to get anymore or not?
Doubt you'll get more, the section beside the away fans has season ticket holders in, so they'd have to move them. You'd get one in the home end without any bother though.

Just seen the goals on SSN. Very harsh on Nolan for the first pen, but absolute stupidity from Taylor for the second.

I'd actually be tempted to drop Coloccini and play Andy Carroll at CB against Reading.
And i'm not even joking
